Had there been something behind Brandon’s comments that afternoon at the pool hall? How could I have so totally missed that?
Wes scooched his chair closer and laid a possessive arm across the back of mine. “Want to share some loaded nachos?”
“Yeah.” I flagged down a server and ordered that and mozzarella sticks to supplement the light spreadalready on the table.
“Your brother going to join us?” Craig asked.
I shook my head. “He’s meeting up with some of his new coworkers tonight.”
“He coming with you to Romeo’s tomorrow?” Randall asked. “Heard he had fun there. I’m looking forward to meeting him.”
“Yeah, he had fun, but I doubt he’ll go there without me.”
“You’re not going? Why not?”
