Chess and mid terms

// Class D, Miyu's POV //

'The midterms are coming up and I have been joining the study sessions even though I really don't need to. Being Lucy's maid, now servant required me to have a high intelligence so I could all ways be in the same class, excluding this school.'

Miyu, and some others where talking about going to kyaki mall. Those others included Karuizawa, Shinohara, Matsushita and Wang. These girls are the main group of girls in class D, with Karuizawa being the most popular due to her going out with Hirata.

'Lucy wanted to get to know some students from my class so I guess I'll bring it up now.' "Hey guys, do you mind if I invite some friends from class B?"

This took them by surprise slightly, Karuizawa was the first to speak though, "I mean I don't mind, who are they?"

Miyu responded, happy with the answer she was given, "My friend's name is Lucy and I think she will bring some of her friends from class. I'll message her now!"

Karuizawa had her eye brows scrunched, "Lucy is a weird name isn't it?"

The other girls nodded their heads to agree.

Miyu: Do you want to come to Kyaki mall with a few of the girls from my class?

Miyu looked up from her phone, "That's because she's English."

This just brought up more questions, "Can she even speak Japanese?"

"Yes, I think she's lived in Japan for quite some time."

~Ding!~ Lucy had responded,

Lucy: yhea sure, where do you want to meet? Also should I bring anyone

Miyu: Bring a few people I guess, we will meet you outside class B

Lucy: sure

"She said she can come."

// Class B, Himino's POV //

Lucy had gotten up from her seat, "Hey Ichinose, wanna come to kyaki mall with some class D girls after school?"

Ichinose had smiled at this, "Yhea sure!"

Lucy looked to her right where a group of girls where talking in a circle, "Excuse me girls," They all looked up in the hopes that they would be asked to join her and Ichinose, the two most popular girls in their outing, "Do you mind if I borrow Himino? I want to ask her something."

Himino nodded her head and saw the jealous looks on the other girls faces, "Sure what's up?"

Whilst Lucy and Himino where talking, the other group of girls began to gossip, "Himino? Is Himino close to Lucy?"

"I don't know, maybe."

"Lucky her, i'm so jealous ~humph~"

"Lucy did ask her to stay behind with her the other day, maybe they got along?"

Himino came back to her original group, "Hey sorry guys, I'm going out with Lucy and Ichinose later so I can't do much with you today."

"No problem, hey can you ask Lucy-"

~Ding!~ "oh." Himino looked down at her phone after an alert, stopping the girl from talking.

She was added to a group chat with Lucy, Ichinose, some girl called Miyu, Karuizawa and a few others. "Oh sorry, what was you saying?"

"Erm, nothing."

Himino showed confusion on her face even though she knew what the girl was going to ask, it was brief but Himino experienced what it felt like to be above others.

"The group of girls where usually invited as the whole group but this time Himino was the only one, causing jealousy in those around her. Himino had her first taste of success, no matter how small that success is, she loved it.

// After school, Karuizawa's POV //

'We have been waiting outside class B for 2 minutes now and Miyu's friend still hasn't left the classroom yet.' Suddenly a girl with brown hair and blue strands in it opened the door,

"Lucy will be ready for you in 3 minutes, you may come inside if you want." The girl spoke with a tone that demanded acceptance.

Miyu walked right into the classroom, and the others followed along. "Hello Miyu, Karuizawa, Wang, Shinohara and Matsushita. I look forward to our time out, if you don't mind I would appreciate it if you would allow me to finish my game, It shouldn't take long."

'That's not creepy at all, she didn't even look up.'

// Ichinose's POV //

~tap~ Lucy picked up a rook and moved it forward to the other side of the board before pausing the 5 minute timer on her phone. Ichinose observed the board and found Lucy's offence incredible, Lucy had drawn out all her pieces from the back row and set up her attack as she did it. 'She must have predicted how the game would go right from the start.'

Karuizawa saw no point in the match and couldn't really understand what was happening, "So, who's winnin-" ~Shhh~ She was silenced by three people.

Ichinose's king was in the corner with no escape as there was three of her own pawns blocking the exits. If Ichinose moves her queen away from the back row then it is checkmate by the rook that is defended by another rook. If she chooses to take the rook, the other rook will take her queen and it will be check mate. There was no choice but to resign or prolong the match in an effortless attempt.

"I resign." These words broke the tense silence, and Lucy laughed and pointed toward her opponent,

"HAHAHA, you owe me 250 points!"

~Sigh~ Ichinose sweat dropped, 'As smart as Lucy is, she can be so childish sometimes'. Ichinose smiled and sent her 500 points, not mad even though she lost.

"Sorry I can only play one game today everyone, we have plans. Ichinose, Himino, are we ready to go?"

Himino walked up to the board and rubbed out the number 3,250 that was written on the top corner of the whiteboard and replaced it with the number 3,500.

This drew the attention of the class D girls, it was Matsushita who voiced out her confusion, "Whats that number for?"

Lucy looked at Himino to explain the game to them, "Everyday for the last few days, Lucy has been challenging people to a game of chess. At first it was a game with 500 points on the line, however when Lucy won, she took 250 points and put the other 250 into the 'pool'. The pool is what the first person who beats Lucy gets, right now the pool is at 3,500 points."

The class D girls where in shock, that they can play around with their money like this. "Your free to play if you want, wanna give it a go?" Lucy said after placing the chess set in her bag. "It will have to be tomorrow though."

// Lucy's POV //

'This game started as a bit of fun between classmates but my original thought was to use it to lure out two people from different classes, have them come to me. Those two people of course being Arisu Sakayanagi, and Kiyotaka Ayanokoji. It is more likely that Arisu Sakayanagi than Ayanokoji but it's worth the shot.'

Lucy was turned down by the girls, but she expected that. What she wanted out of this is for them to tell their class about it, that way more people will come and get more publicity out into the other classes.

"Well let's go shall we?" Ichinose was at the door, ready to leave.

// time skip, after shopping, Miyu's POV //

It was starting to get dark, and all the girls where tired from all the karaoke, payed for by Lucy.

A few of the girls went back to the dorms already, it was only Lucy, Ichinose, Himino and Karuizawa left.

'Lucy has been whispering into Ichinose's ear just now, I wonder what that's about?'

Ichinose stood up and spoke, "Karuizawa would you like to walk back to the dorms with me? I'm getting tired tired."

Karuizawa looked tired as well, as she had been doing a lot of the singing. Ichinose and Karuizawa had gotten on surprisingly well. "Sure why not, bye everyone!" Karuizawa waved back as she left the karaoke room with Ichinose.

Suddenly the room went quiet and the music had been silenced, both Miyu and Himino looked toward Lucy as she was the one with the remote control.

Lucy stood there with a disappointed face, "Ok you two, sit down next to each other right now." The two did as commanded. "I don't know what your problem with each other is but it ends now, got that!"

Himino was the first to respond, "But she started it, I don't know why but she keeps avoiding me and giving me dirty looks all day!"

~Humph~ Miyu didn't deny it, but looked away with a humph. "Your the one trying to steal Lucy away from me! It's your fault!"

The two went at it for a few minutes until Lucy stepped in, "Shut up, both of you. You are both my servants and if you can't make it work then I can all ways find others, you got that?"

The two went wide eyed at that, Miyu knew just how ruthless Lucy could be and remembered the first time in her life when she was without Lucy for a full 8 hours. These thoughts stopped any rational thinking, making her believe the bluff.

It wasn't so much a bluff when it came to Himino though, Himino had just found her ticket to reaching her goals and didn't want to lose that.

"In fact, if i'm not wrong, you still deserve that punishment I promised you Himino. Well here it is, I am forbidding you to contact me for the next 2 weeks, don't even talk to me in class." Himino began to cry, it was over. She had lost her opportunity.

"And Miyu! I expect better from you, you are however in my good books so you are forbidden from talking to me for the next week, understand?"

// Lucy's POV //

Now both girls where distraught, Lucy left the two in the room by themselves. 'Hopefully they use each other to get through this. I know Miyu will have an especially hard time.'

Lucy got her phone out and typed a message to Miyu,

Lucy: I want you to train Himino during the next two weeks.

Miyu responded imideately,

Miyu: OK, i'm sorry

Lucy ignored the fact that a notification was received and left it unread.

// Time skip, 2 weeks, Lucy's POV //

"YAY!" Everyone in the class was celebrating, why you ask? Because everyone passed the mid terms and the class had gained 60 class points bringing them up to 890 class points.

The following class stats where as follows;

Class A: 1,010 class points

Class B: 890 class points

Class C: 300 class points

Class D: 0 class points

Classes C and D had not received their class points due to an indecent, apparently a student from class D beat up a few class C students.

Lucy rose from her seat and walked over to Himino's desk "Himino, would you like to go out with me later?"

Himino's eyes gained a light that had been missing for the past two weeks, "Yes, please."
