I woke up with a jerk, groaning at the cold that bit through my skin from laying on the floor for too long. Eyes closed, I dragged in a deep breath, and the scent of my Vladimir hit my nostrils.

"I suppose we should begin since you are awake."

I flew my eyes open to find Vladimir standing near the wall.

"How long have you been here?" I asked, sitting up on the floor.

"About thirty minutes or so," Vladimir replied.

He took out his phone from his pocket and called a number. With the words they exchanged on the phone, I knew he was talking to the guard.

A few minutes later, the basement door opened and two guards walked in. One was a werewolf and the other a vampire.

The werewolf handed him a syringe and I frowned at the whitish liquid inside the syringe.
