Escape

While the prison was in a state of chaos, Alisha and Fernus made their way through the corridors of the cell doors. Alisha would see more guards lying dead on the ground along the way. Just as they kept running, she would look at the metallic cell doors around them. The prisoners are kept inside. None of them couldn't see what was happening outside because there was no window for them to look through. However, she snaps back as Fernus stops right around the corner, giving her the sign to stop too. More of the prison guards ran past them quickly without noticing their presence. He then took a peek to see if the coast is clear.

"It's clear, come on"

They continued onward until they arrive at a catwalk. There are multiple floors above and below them. They could also see a couple of guard towers in the distance, shining their spotlights on various places to look for intruders or escaping inmates. The sky is also covered in metal ceilings, and nobody can see what's outside the prison. Fernus then look at Alisha and began conveying his plans to her.

"Ok, here's the plan. We look for Friday and recover her, dead or alive. After that, we'll escape via the airlock and eject ourselves outside"

"Great. So, do you know where she is?"

"Already had a couple of places in mind to look for her, but I don't think we have enough time to go in blindly"

Alisha began thinking for a moment while looking at the towers in the distance.

"Maybe not. We can find a control room and figure out where she is through the security cameras"

"Was already working on that but I haven't found it yet"

She smirked "And that's where I come in. I know where it is" She points to a lone tower in the distance "That tower over there"

He looks at the tower "Alright, good find. Let's go"

They began running through the catwalk towards one of the towers in the distance. There are two guards guarding the entrance to the tower. However, by the time they notice Fernus, one of them was struck by his vibro blade, which pierced his neck. Before the other guard could call for help, Fernus leaps towards him and kicks him off the catwalk, causing him to fall down to the unknown abyss of the very bottom floor of the prison. He then took out the blade that was stuck in the dead guard's neck and sheath the blade in the scabbard on his belt. After that, he opens the door and began calling the elevator down. While he waits, he looks back at Alisha who is now carrying the rifle of the dead guard and is trying to learn how to use it.

"Ever used a rifle before?"

She looks at Fernus "No, but I can learn"

He walks over to her and took the rifle "Well you won't learn much here. Akadian weapons are id locked. No one except their own soldiers can use it"

"Huh, I didn't know that"

"You were locked up here for a long time, so I wouldn't expect anything less" He throws the rifle away and the elevator would ring, signifying that it has reached their floor "Here's our ride" The lift door would slide open, and he gestures for her to enter "Ladies first"

She smiled and enters the lift "What a gentleman"

Fernus then enters after her, and the door closes. The lift then ascends toward the upper floor, to where the control room is. Fernus unsheathed both of his vibro blades, and both blades and his eyes would glow bright blue. Alisha would notice this change but decided to keep this to herself until they have secured the control room. She readied her pistol, counting the ammo that is inside and making sure that the bullets are properly rechambered.

Once the elevator arrives, the door slides open. Fernus once again leaps out toward the nearest guards and takes them out simultaneously, leaving a bright blue trail. Then he would continue leaping towards the other guards and slashing through them. Alisha also ran towards one of the control panels and took cover behind it, then began shooting at the remaining guards that Fernus hasn't attacked yet. Within minutes, all of them lie dead without a single one of them raising the alarm. Their attacks were successful. Fernus sheath his blades and walk towards one of the consoles. He then uses it to start finding out where Friday is.

"Alright, where is it...There! She's on the top floor of the prison, in lab 28"

"That's not all"

Alisha was also accessing the other console. She was at the security cameras of the rest of the prison.

"You're going to have a hard time getting there. They locked down the main elevator"

Fernus walked over to her console and would see the guards standing guard in front of the main elevator, which is larger than the one they just used.

"Any other way?"

"There is a stair leading up there but it's going to be a long climb"

"Not a problem. Come on, let's go" He would walk towards the elevator behind them. However Alisha remains at the console, still looking at the security cameras. An idea would click in her.

"Wait, I think it would be easier if I stay here. Aside from releasing the prisoners, I can guide you using the security cameras so you can avoid the guards and have a better chance of sneaking by"

He stopped and turn to look at her "That's not a bad idea. But make sure you stay safe, alright"

She gave him a Sly smile "You worry about your own safety. I can take care of my own"

Fernus clicks his tongue and throws an earpiece at her to which she caught it. He then point to his own ear "Put this on so we can contact each other.

She puts the earpiece on her left ear "Got it"

He continued towards the elevator. Once he entered it and set the elevator to the ground floor, the two would look at each other with a smile before it was interrupted by the elevator door that closes. The elevator then descends to the ground floor of the control. He would look down and close his eyes while murmuring to himself.

"She's one tough gal"

After the elevator door slides open, he opens his eyes and begins running out of it towards the catwalks. Moments later, he could hear Alisha voice through the earpiece that he is also wearing on his ears.

"Alright, ready for a 5 star tour guide of the Akadian prison?"

He chuckles and then slips himself around the corner and hides there as a spotlight from the other towers flashes through the catwalk "Alright Princess. Give me what you got"

"With pleasure. First off, keep moving forward towards the second tower on the distance. Then, take a left towards the laundry room. There should be no guards along the way"

"Got it"

He followed her instructions and went out of the corner to continue running forward. He passed the first tower, then once he reached the second tower, he turned left. There, he would run through a corridor until he reached a metal door at the end of it. He then stops near the door and slowly opens it to see if there's anybody inside. After confirming that no one is there, he walks in there and look around.

"OK, where to now?"

"There's a door to the right which leads to the garbage chutes. You can use it to climb to the main prison floor"

"Garbage chutes, huh"

Fernus ran through the door on the right and would see a dumping hole. He then looks up through the hole to confirm Alisha findings.

"Yeah, I can climb this, no problem"

"It's only three floors above you to the main prison floor, so you don't have to worry about the stink"

"As if bad smell ever stopped me before. I've been through worse than this you know"

He would jump into the hole and began climbing upwards. He used his vibro blades by stabbing them into the walls of the chute and began climbing with them. One by one, he stabs the wall while the other lets go to stab the spot above him. After a few minutes of climbing, he reaches the main prison floor and leaves the chute through the dumping hole. He then looks around while cleaning himself off.

"I'm here. Where to now?"

"After you leave that room, continue straight, then take a left. There are a lot of guards patrolling there, so make sure you keep quiet"

"Right"

Fernus leaves the room and continues walking in the direction that Alisha pointed out. Along the way, he would see several guards patrolling the corridors. With Alisha guidance, he hid himself well from the guards and made his way towards the stairs leading up to the top floor where Friday is being kept. Fernus opens the metallic door to the stair and looks above him. It was quite high as he couldn't see the ceiling of the room from where he was.

"Told you it was going to be a climb"

"Heh, can you see me through the security camera?"

"Only on this floor but once you're up there, I won't be able to keep an eye on you. I can't access the security cameras on the top floor"

"No problem. Anyway, let me show you a cool trick"

Fernus would lower himself. His body then lights up in a blue light, as his aura seems to be revealing itself to her. After a moment passes, he jumps towards the top floor in top speed, leaving a blue trail. He then landed safely in front of the door of the top floor.

"How was that?"

"That's the second time you've impressed me. What exactly is that power of yours?"

"It's called Resonance. It's a power that allows me to boost my skills by using the energies around me"

"I've heard of that Power before. Apparently, everyone can learn such power"

"Everyone except Akadians"

"Yeah, I wonder why it is"

"Beats me. Anyway, I'll be looking for Friday now. Lab 28, right?"

"Right. Good luck in there"

He nods, then proceeds to open the door and once again ran through the corridor on the other side of the room. It was unlike the lower floors of the prison. The corridor is much wider and there are no cell doors on each side of the corridor, only doors marked by numbers. Fernus made his way through until he arrived at door number 28. He then slowly opens the door and carefully enters the room. It was a lab, filled with lab equipment on top of every table there, and the room is very clean. In the corner of the room is a robotic girl that's strapped up to the wall, standing. Her eyes were wide open, and there are multiple cables attached to her body. He carefully approached her with a smile on his face. This is Friday, the Proto he was looking for. However, the good news was about to end when he hears Alisha began talking with him through his earpiece, but this time it was quite different.

"...And who are you supposed to be?"

Another woman on her side would answer her question. She sounds a lot older than her "I'm just a scientist working here. I may not be a guard here, but I suggest you surrender and go back to your cell before this gets ugly"

Fernus's eyes widened as he realizes that Alisha seems to have been caught. He would quickly run towards Friday and began unstrapping the cables on her body and removing the bindings that kept her on the wall. But once he finishes, he was interrupted by a robotic metal dog that leaps onto him and bit his arm. He quickly kicks the dog away, but he then gets back up on his feet. Soon, two more metallic robot dogs enter the room, blocking the door where he came from. Then a black-haired girl wearing a lab coat enters after them.

"What do we have here? An uninvited guest. I assume you're not from the R&D department or the regular guards since you're not wearing our uniform"

She took out a pistol from the holster on her belt and rechambers it. Then she points the pistol at Fernus with a mischievous smile "A normal guard would ask you to drop your weapons and surrender, but I'm not a normal guard you see. I'm a scientist whose really glad that I get another specimen to experiment on, especially one as handsome as you"

Fernus took out his vibro blades "Sorry to disappoint, but you're too old for my taste"

His eyes light up in a blue aura, then he charges quickly toward one of the dogs, leaving a blue trail along his path. Its metallic skin was easily cut by his vibro blade, which he then kicks him away toward the wall. The other two then charge toward Fernus, slashing at him using the claws on their paws. He dodged all of their attacks, and once again slashed them back and kicks them away. All of the robot dogs are now too wounded to fight back or to even stand up. The girl looks in disbelief at how he single-handedly handles her dogs without breaking a sweat. She then starts shooting at him, but after a couple of missed shots, he was already in front of her, cutting the pistol in half.

"Impossible...My babies"

"I never liked dogs anyway"

He pulls one of his blades back and then thrust it to stab her in the stomach. She closes her eyes as she was bracing for it but after a moment of not feeling anything, she opens her eyes and see a tall metallic black armored soldier standing in front of her, holding the blade effortlessly with one of his hands. Fernus was shocked at the soldier's strength. The soldier then punched Fernus away in the stomach, sending him flying back toward the wall.

"Are you alright Miss Harkins?"

Before the girl could answer, she ran over to one of her robot dogs and kneels down to it "No, this bastard just hurt my babies. Avenge them and beat the shit out of him!"

The soldier stares at Fernus. His red visor then glows bright red, giving Fernus a menacing stare "With pleasure"

Fernus stood back up slowly, holding his stomach with his free hand. The vibro blade that was held by the soldier flew off to the ground far from him, and so he was left with one now. He then gets into his fighting stance, preparing himself for a hard fight.

Alisha who was still in the control room, looks at the security cameras from the console, wondering if Fernus is alright. She then clenches her hands, as she realizes that if she can escape from this prison, she can make plans to avenge her family and her kingdom. She was filled with rage as she remembered the horrific scene that was plagueing her mind all these years.

"You look like you're in a bad mood" A voice spoke up from behind her.

She quickly took out her pistol and aim it at the person behind her. It was an older woman wearing a hat and a trench coat. She put her right hand inside her trench coat, and the coat is unbuttoned, revealing the black clothes she is wearing inside the coat.

"Should I come back with an ice cream? Maybe that will improve your mood"

Alisha quickly activated her earpiece to allow Fernus to listen in "And who are you supposed to be?"

"I'm just a scientist working here. I may not be a guard here, but I suggest you surrender and go back to your cell before this gets ugly"

Alisha then hears the sound of fighting on Fernus's side. Her eyes widened, as she realizes that the two of them are in trouble now. The woman smiled and chuckles a little.

"What's the matter, your friend ran into some trouble on his end?"

She quickly regains her composure and began threatening the woman with her pistol "Hands up or I will shoot you!"

"Eh, you would shoot an unarmed combatant. That's not a noble thing to do, you know that right, princess?"

Alisha fired a warning shot near the woman's feet. Her expression turned into anger "Don't test me"

She sighs and took her right arm out of her coat. Her right arm was not a regular arm, but it turns out to be prosthetic. The woman then smiled "Here you go, arm up"

She flicks her raised arm. Suddenly the elevator door behind the woman opens, and a group of guards flood out of the elevator and began surrounding Alisha. Their rifles are all aimed toward her. Alisha froze but kept her pose and began thinking of various ways to escape this situation. The woman then smiled.

"Your turn. Hands up or they will shoot you"

Once again, Alisha was deep in thought and was pressured by the unfair odds against her. There doesn't appear to be a way out of this. All of the windows of the control room are bulletproof, and the only way out is the elevator behind the woman. After a while, she sighs and drops the pistol she is holding. Then she slowly raised her hands up in the air.

"See, that wasn't so hard now, was it? She's all yours boys"

Two of the guards walked over to Alisha. One of them put Alisha's hands behind her back and handcuffed them, while the other kept aiming his rifle close at her. Once he finished putting on the handcuff, he would shove Alisha on the back while shouting "Move!". Alisha, even though annoyed at this defeat, began to move forward toward the elevator. Once she was in, several of the guards followed her and stood beside her. The elevator door then closes, leaving only the woman and the remaining guards in the control room.

The woman then uses her comm to contact her superior "How are you doing over there Hiro? You look like you're having fun up there"

She would hear the sound of rifle shots along with the clashing sounds of a blade. Her superior then answered her with his robotic voice "Have you apprehended his accomplice?"

"No, but I did find one of the prisoners here. The Pirusian princess, Alisha Sturn"

"I...See" She then hears a grunt from the other side of the comm, but it was another person that seems to be fighting her superior at the moment. Even though she can tell that her superior is currently busy fighting someone else, she shook it off as she knows that he will have no problem in dealing with the intruder.

"So, what am I supposed to do with her?"

"Take her to a more secured cell and keep her there"

"Alright. Have fun with your boyfriend, Hiro"

The superior sighs in annoyance before he closes the comms and leaves her in the silence of the control room. The elevator door then opens again. She and the guards then walk inside and began descending to the ground floor to continue their hunt.
