*BEEP*
We were facing the now cute and bubbly version of the future King of the Court, Tobio-chan to Oika senpai, Kageyama Tobio.
*BAM*
*BAM*
The ball bounced back into my hand, it was my turn to serve. Pointing to Tobio Kageyama, I made him the target of my serve.
'Keh, he thinks he can take me on, KUKU, wait until I bulldoze my way into your as-, Cough cough, sorry'
'Either way, I'll crush his little pride of touching the ball the most and show him dominance'.
"Sigh, I'm sorry little one"
Insert image of the old chairman of hunter association from solo leveling smiling here:
Maybe because my serve went to Kageyama as I had intended or the fact I used a jump serve, shock was all I saw in the air on the faces of the bystanders.
Ahh, Gon, GONN!
Obviously Kageyama couldn't receive it and neither could he get it up in the air, so I scored an ace. The ball was in my hands once again, giving a little squeeze
"This time your hands filled with filth will not graze the boundaries of this ball" I pointed at Tobio once again but this time he got low into receiving stance.
'As if that will help you, let's see you get a hand on this'
I hit him with a float serve
[AN : Just imagine and use 'Yamaguichi nice serve!' as a reference and you'll be fine]
Caught off guard, he stepped forward as the ball floated to him. He put up his hands in preparation to pass the setter on his team but instead of the ball following the path he predicted and falling to his hands, it instead abruptly dropped in front of him.
Almost revealing a smirk, a small smile was what was on my lips at the moment. The ball was rolled back to my feet, I bent down to pick it up and found Tobio Kageyama glaring at me but it seemed he wanted to challenge me.
'Tsk tsk how naive Tobio-kun but let's be childish and amuse him this once.'
Mouthing the words 'GAME POINT'. He looked confused and seconds later his eyes widened in realization and saliva swallowed.
I decided to replicate a serve I saw in the anime, it was one of the serves I thought was underrated and should be high up in tiers with the jump serve for lethality. It was the underhand serve.
From a perspective, it is the serve novices at the sport begin with, before moving on to overhand serves and the more advanced jump serve. I believe it is filled with potential however it is quite limited and can be used to weed out weaklings and mobs. Hitting the ball high up in the air would test the athletes hand to eye coordination, the hours put into practice and most importantly their decision making. The best way to counteract such a move would be with a bump pass as instead of judging the distance with a set, you just have to wait for it to make contact with your forearms. But it isn't any easier and I believe it would be enough against the likes of pre-canon Tobio.
[AN: Oh also don't do this in gymnasiums with low ceilings, highly do not recommend unless you like balls that are stuck]
Hitting the ball with my palm from below the ball, I made contact with its underside and sent it flying into Tobio's position. Once again catching him off guard, I watched him take a few steps back and tried to figure out his thought process.
'Oh, hmm, well it is not what I expected but fair enough I'll accept it.'
Kageyama moved behind to give enough space for the setter to receive the ball in place of him and because of his positioning, he's also in the best spot as an option for a back court attack.
'Not bad Kageyama, not bad but it's not enough'
"LET'S DANCE KAGEYAMMAA" I yelled Madara style.
"DORTUUU" He yelled back in response.
The setter had done a good job at putting it back up in the air but it was going back to the other side.
"Chance ball" I said not worried in the least bit.
Number 1 jumped to hit the ball without giving anyone a chance to set.
*SLAM*
But he was blocked with a one person wall
"One Touch" He yelled and made way for other players, one of the mobs passed to Kageyama who wanted to get his hands on the ball. Setting to the Outside Hitter (OH) would have been the best decision to anyone on the court, however it is one I predicted.
Appearing in front of the OH, I spared no effort in killing his spike, with no mercy.
'GAME OVER'
''With these eyes, all tricks are laid bare''.
Walking away without looking back, I didn't get to see the expression Kageyama Tobio was making because if I did, the shit eating grin on my face would have just grown wider.

-What do you guys think of me continuing with pre-canon or do you want me to time-skip to the third year? And give reasons as well.
I just saw a comment on webnovel of a guy saying a mexican is also american.. kinda ridiculous ngl. Anyway, Tendo's introduction and guess block is one of my favorite moments in Haikyuu.
Creation is hard, cheer me up!
