A New Darkness

Jade nods to her kids and kissed Fenris on the head. "Yes come in, my loves." She stopped Fenris. "Baby if you need to talk I am sorry for how things happened when you were younger, but you know I love you and would do anything for you." She hated that he was so close to her mother. She wanted to throttle Gabrielle for her not sending her son to speak to her. She was his mother and Gabrielle was not even a fucking mother. She never take it out on her son, but now that he was back she wanted him to know she was there for him.

She had her arm around him as they went into the house together. She went to start the coffee for all of them and when it was ready she poured and set our creamer and sugar for her kids. She poured hers and sat next to Erin as she breathed in and smiled. "My babies so what's been going on its been a year since you all came home for break." She said. She watched Lysander and Lyn. Her hand rubbed Fenris arm. She was proud of her babies. She got tears in her eyes they were so big now.

Lysander went to grab the creamer for his coffee and kissed his mom on the Cheek. "Hey were okay Mom and we love you. No need to worry we are home now." He hugged her tightly and went to take his seat as they all started to tell what they did while they were gone. Laughing and telling things. Lyn finally looked at her Mom, "So how have things been here, you working it out with grandma?" She asked. Jade sighed, "Things here have been going well. Yeah working on it." Jade said with an annoyed growl. At that point Shane walked down and yawned. "Thought I heard the Alpha and Luna up with the kids, thought I was dreaming. I heard you all weren't supposed to be back till the afternoon." He said. Lyn smiled and and ran over to hug Shane. "Uncle Shane." She said happily. He smiled and hugged her. "Hey kiddo good to see you." He high fived the other two. "Good too see you lads." He said and grabbed 2 extra cups. Jade raised a eyebrow. "House is up Val and Michael are coming down." Shane told her.

Jade nods and watched as the entire pack started to get up. They said hi to the returning Alpha and Lunas pups. Lyn brightened at the sight of her pack mates and the Kitchen was full of laughter and happiness. Jade smiled as she helped out with breakfast, her, val, Alyssa and Gabrielle got it ready while the others set up the table they had to make it bigger as the pack had grown. Angel winked at Fenris, as she went to sit by him. "Good to have the Lunas kids back it been so boring around here. Welcome back to pack life." she said. Jade smirked as she listened. "Looks like Fenris caught someones eye." She said to Erin and Lexi. Lexi walked by and pursed her lips slightly. "Yeah." She said, Jade growled at her. "Sorry no it's a good thing." Lexi said.

Jade raised her voice over the talking. " Alright settle down you mongrels, yes our kids are back, which was earlier than expected after breakfast were helping them move into their new rooms." She saw her kids confusion. "Oh right we haven't had a chance to tell you with the expansion of the pack. We had to add on to the house we made 3 official separate rooms. For the 3 of you not near each other, but we needed to make room for future residence it actually was just finished a few days ago. We wanted it to be a surprise for when you got home so surprise." She said. She kissed Fenris on the head "okay let's eat move the kids in and get them some sleep." She said as she sat next to Erin

They all ate and did the dishes before going out to unload the truck. It was in the middle of unloading when Jade got a call. She put the box down in her sons Fenris' room. "Hello?" She asked. "This is Jade." She said. "What?" Her voice stopped and she put her hand out to stop Erin. "Yeah no will be their asap." She said. Jade pulled Erin aside. " we have a small situation in the town woods not far from here. They say it was an animal attack. They sent pictures it was not any fucking creature I have ever seen. Look." She showed him the phone. "Bring some others, but leave the kids out of it." She told him. "Not everyone just a few the rest can help with the last of the boxes." She told her mate and went to go grab another box. She winked at her kids. "Alright your dad and I have a few errands to run we will be back soon." She said.

"Errands? Where you off to mom?" Lysander asked. " want us to help?" He asked. "No you finish up here and get some rest for tonight. Got a party in honor of your guys return." She winked and kissed his cheek. "I love you kids more than anything." She said softly.

A female was walking home late from closing up the bar. She was walking with some of the other bartenders. They were laughing and walking by an alleyway. "Hey y'all wait up I have to tie my shoes." The bartender said. She knelt to tie her shoes, her friends still laughing and walking. She tried to tie her shoes quickly, how ever as she got up she heard a growl and saw electric blue eyes and here screams were muffled as she disappeared down the alley.

The next morning the police, arrived and were blocking off the area. People stood around and gawked as they saw a body covered in a sheet. They didn't know if it was male or female till the corner moved the body and a hand fell out. One of the bartenders friends from the night before had been standing with her friends confused. Their friend had been right behind them that night stopped and must of gone back for som they hadn't heard her call out or her screams. A scream rang out from one of the females coworker's as they saw the bracelet on the hand that fell out. One of the police detectives walked over. "You know this person?" They asked she nods with tears in her eyes. "Please come with us." He said. He nods to another Detective to make the call. The wounds were nothing they had seen and they had made a deal with a local pack they would never hunt humans if they helped protect the town, only reason they knew about them was due to a detective a d a tun in with them over the 4 years the children been away at college, it been an accident, but there secret was definitely revealed to some in town. This wasn't a wolf bite but it wasn't recognizable they needed the wolves help.

What they didn't see was a cloaked woman watching from a far with a dark smirk on her lips as if the whole thing amused her. As the detectives gaze fell where she been standing, she had disappeared from sight. As if she been a ghost. He could of Sworn he seen some one there.

Shea had been in her father's home tapping the table. As she moved the cup away from her hand and back again. She was using her witch powers that her father didn't like her to use. She couldn't help it sometimes. She would always stop when her sister and father would walk in. She looked up when she heard Ulric. "Good to see you father, what are we doing today?" She said as she had turned the news down. She been watching it and enjoying the story of death in a town near her half brothers pack. He was supposed to be back today, she wanted to go see him. Of course she knew he was, but he didn't know a thing about her.

Her father wanted her to sleep with him and get him to fall for her. She would do her best to follow her father's wishes to keep the blood lines going.

Michael was ecstatic that they had all returned, obviously more so that Lyn was back. He was even glad that their new rooms had been finished and furnished, looking forward to visiting Lyn in hers, both to simply spend time with her and for more romantic reasons. However, a looming thought in his mind was still having to deal with her brothers. It was one thing to have a crush on the Pack Leader's daughter, as dealing with that fact alone was a great deal of pressure, but it felt like her brothers brought an insurmountable factor to the table. He wasn't too concerned about Lysander, as the two of them got along just fine, but he was both wary and a bit afraid of Fenris, if he was being honest. The two of them never really hit it off or interacted much for that matter, regardless, any and everybody knows that having romantic feelings for and dating someone you know's sister comes with an enormous amount of tension and trials. That quadruples when you add in the testosterone levels, aggressiveness, and the Lycan pedigree of this Pack.

Fenris was happy to be home, though his thoughts were still tangled in the nightmare that he had. He did his best to put on a smiling face and be as excited as the others, but he couldn't help but contemplate on what he had seen. He knew that it had been a nightmare, but it had felt so real, and at the same time he could understand why such a scenario might happen. It was that realization that frightened him the most, because regardless of how frustrated he might of been in the past or even presently, he had never thought that he would be capable of an act of betrayal like the one he witnessed in that nightmare. Had it been a singular nightmare, he might have shaken it off as nothing more than that, but it appeared that they had all had a nightmare, possibly even the same one. The thought of his siblings seeing him like that made only helped boost his anxiety to greater heights and heighten his paranoia, but the other two didn't seem to be letting on if they had seen what he had and he wasn't going to ask them.

He hugged his mother tightly, listening to her words and giving her a smile. "I appreciate it," he started, "You don't need to worry, I'm good." He gave a framed smile. He could infer from her comment that she must be worried that he talked to Aunt Gabby about his issues more than her. He understood where she was coming from and appreciated her letting her know that she'd be there for him, but there was just something about being the black-sheep and outcast that he felt that only Aunt Gabby could relate to. Also, what boy wants to go pour their heart out to their mom about their issues? Perhaps Lysander might voice his concerns to their mother, but that wasn't something that Fenris saw himself doing anytime soon. He liked that Aunt Gabby was objective, listened, gave advise and also kept their conversations between them.

At the table with the rest of the Pack now up and joining them, Angel's wink brought a sly grin to his face, as looking at her brought a calming feeling to his mind, allowing him to temporarily forget the tumultuous thoughts and feelings that were currently bombarding him. He gave her a return wink, his thoughts now distracted by her visage and what he'd do to it.

Erin saw the photos and had to agree that those weren't the markings of anything that he had ever seen before. He kept a straight face as Jade asked him to grab a few people to come with them, nodding in understanding. "Shane! Alyssa!" he called out, making eye contact with both, "You two come with us," he looked over the room, "The rest of you help my 3 pups get settled in," He smiled as he stood he went around and ruffled the hair of his two boys and kissed his precious daughter on the forehead, "You guys get your stuff settled in and relax, we'll be back in a little bit." He said, trying not to make a big deal of the situation, and sending a text to Darius Bloodbourne.

Ulric looked to his daughter, giving her a mischievous smile. "It would appear that the young ones have returned, as has my son," he said, elated with the possibilities and plans he had in-store for the boy, "I hear they will be throwing a welcoming party, one of which you and your sister will be attending," he said, frankly.

Ulric had been continuously scheming behind the scenes, between training his daughters. Though it appeared that some in town had caught wind of the fact that Jade's Pack existed, it appeared that they were willing to overlook it, so long as her people helped keep the peace. It was something that he didn't really care about, seeing as he had damn near created the town, his touch already cemented there and further expanding out elsewhere. He had made a few deals with a few Witches and had them in his pocket, either through legitimate means or coercion, and was currently trying to work on getting his hands on something that might make his position even more formidable than ever.

Sierra strolled into the room, wrapped only in a towel, having just showered after her morning workout. "Good morning, Father! Shea!" she announced, sashaying her way to the fridge to get something to eat, hair and body still slightly wet. "I heard you say that we're going to a party for the brats later today, huh?" she acknowledged, as she began to get things out to make breakfast, then looking to her sister, "Should be entertaining at the least."

Ulric sneered a bit, knowing that while Shea was one to stick to plan, Sierra was and had always been a wild card, regardless of how much he "taught" her to know her place and to follow his word to the letter. "You will attend, and you won't make a scene, understood?" His question was followed by a low growl and a pressure of intimidation that was palpable.

Sierra didn't miss a step in preparing breakfast, looking over her shoulder with a smile. "Of course! I'm just looking forward to seeing them after 4 years. I'm sure they've grown into something worth play-...I mean, meeting." She looked over to Shea and gave her a wink before going back to making breakfast.

While her father spent a lot of time teaching them and scheming, she had been doing a fair share of her own. She had been going on little ventures of her own, establishing connections through sheer force, and brutally slaughtering anyone who didn't bow to her the first time she asked them to. Where her father might be considered a War Lord, she was a Death God. She both expected and demanded respect from people she met, regardless if it was for the first time. The only reason she'd yet to tear out her own father's throat, for his constant "educational reminders", was because she felt she hadn't yet reached a point where his death would be as one-sided as she wanted it to be.

However, when it came to Shea, she neither bore hatred nor sisterly love for the girl. She was amused by her sister, at most, a product of a witch that also had witch abilities. She wasn't as disgusted by them as her father was, but understanding why he disliked them, as they were far above simple witches, so their power was something that they both saw as inferior and something that could only be looked down on. She had to admit, though, that Shea was both tough and pretty. She hadn't had an opportunity to spar 1-on-1 with her sister, a decision that she was sure was purposely made by their father, knowing how Sierra liked to toy with anyone that was weaker than she was.

She was a bit excited to go to the party. She had kept herself away from the others for a long time now, knowing that she'd likely be unable to help herself from doing something that would make things harder for herself at home. With that in mind, she knew that the party was still going to be a test of her patience and discipline. Having heard the stories from her father, she was a bit confused as to why he hadn't simply slaughtered them all when they refused to adhere to his demands in their first encounter, but she decided that she wouldn't waste time pondering on the past. Soon, they would become her play things, and if she was lucky, they might even entertain her more than she thought them capable of.

Darius Bloodbourne had been at the scene of the crime, waiting for Erin and the others to arrive. He was the Alpha of his own small group, and had been accepted in to this territory. His two daughters had made friends with Erin's pack, so he planned to become one under their Pack soon. That would probably have to come later, though, as the cover over the body fell off and he got a good look at the carnage. It certainly wasn't something that a wolf or a vampire had done, which was an alarming fact that deeply bothered Darius. The severity and savagery by which the wounds were inflicted led him to ponder on what creature could've done such a thing, and also made him realize that such a thing needed to be hunted down and dealt with as soon as possible.
