Even More Beautiful

A moment today, Scott was ill-ease as if something amiss have gone to his Luna. He immediately called Cory only to find out that Calvin didn't disappoint Scott's assumptions about Calvin's malevolent schemes toward Diana.

He wanted to wing his way to Diana, hence, he was reassured that she's now free from danger with David and Cory hanging by her side.

It's almost nine in the evening and Diana still haven't arrived. She insisted on coming over instead, considering that the surgery started late. With no other options, Scott just agreed. Cory and David will be accompanying her anyway.

The Devlin Ballroom is bustlin' with so many faces, Scott didn't even know most of them. All guests were wearing white, making them all look the same. Their scents even elicit the same smell.

Scott couldn't be more irritated with the fact he's partying with so many people when all he wants to do is spend some time alone with his Luna on his birthday.

There were beaming lights, people heavily drinking, and loud thudding sounds filling the whole ballroom. "Diana wouldn't be very comfortable with any of these", he thought of his introvert Luna.

He endured people coming over to greet him. His patience is being tested by time and sociability, where every minute that passed and every person who shows up, he strongly hoped it would be his Luna who'll turn up next.

Lucas just left with another she-wolf. They could be banging now in one of the rooms. Scott was left drinking with Allen and Austin.

It's the 5th time he glanced at his watch. He groaned on how slow time seemed to be.

"Hey Scott, nice party", He heard a woman's voice from behind.

"Ava", it's Christina's blonde friend whom he met back in the island. She went too close, inching her body to his. How annoying these female wolves, they don't know one's privacy bubble, he thought. They should learn from Diana.

"Hey Ava, nice dress", Austin said in sarcasm looking at her puffy white mini dress. She just gave him a pouty lips and a slap on her hip.

"Wanna take me somewhere we can be alone?", she brushed Scott's jaw with her fingers.

Scott grunted as he grabbed her wrist, tightening his grip before pushing it away.

"Go to the restroom, and lock yourself in", he said as he turn his back from this miserable woman.

"Hey Ava, want me to join you?", Allen teased as Ava lifted her middle finger at him.

A few minutes later, in the middle of pouring wine and reminiscing Scott's past birthday parties, Scott and the pack caught a glimpse of the woman they all been anticipating to see.

Diana finally arrived with Cory and David. She's wearing an off shoulder white croset draped dress with high slit revealing her leg as she walk down the stairs.

Seeing her this way, Scott wanted to sew her slit close and put his coat on her or even hide her face in his shirt. His eyes shifted to his pack with their mouths open as they smiled foolishly at his Luna. He beat their mouths close as they giggled in excitement for their Alpha.

"Now that's how every woman should be dressed", Austin said as he shouldered Scott, pecking Scott's cheek as he giggled. Scott just pushed him away as he looked at his Luna.

Scott's smile slowly faded when he noticed his brother approached Diana, and even offered his face for a kiss.

"DIANA? Why are you here?", Sebastian said as he kissed her cheek to cheek.

"Sebastian! I was invited. Why are you here?", Diana hugged Sebastian with a slight tap on his back.

Cory elbowed David, telling this ain't going to be good if Scott sees this.

"I lived here. It's my parents' home.", he said.

"Your home?", Diana wondered.

"I see you two have met each other", Scott tapped Sebastian's shoulder heavily, making him shrink from fear of his Alpha brother.

"Ah yes eh.. heh..", Sebastian gave an awkward smile as he bear the pain from Scott's unfriendly tap. "Wait, You knew each other?", Sebastian tilted his body squinting at Scott, his brother never invited a human girl over. In fact, he never invited any girl. EVER.

"She's my.. she's my..", Scott cleared his throat unsure of how to introduce his Luna.

"Oh please, I need a drink", David cringe on how the Alpha stuttered when he can just easily tell the world who Diana is.

"Wait up stallion, we're just getting at the best part", Cory smiled ear to ear waiting for the Alpha to say the exact words what Luna is to him. He clung to David's arm who's about the escape the scene.

"My brother invited you?! Oh wait, is he the guy you were telling me about?!", Sebastian widened his eyes in awe.

"Uh.. yes", Diana glared at Sebastian, as she force a smile.

Scott who couldn't read the air, pushed his brother to the side. "Sebastian get lost. Diana just arrived.", he said.

Sebastian lifted a thumbs up to Diana, but then, he gave a worried smile. He wondered what his Alpha brother be doing with this nice woman. It would make him terribly unhappy, once his brother imprinted to his mate and leave this lovely lady crying in tears.

Scott got a wink from Cory and a goodluck tap from David, hoping tonight would be a good night for their Alpha.

"He's your..", Diana whisphered.

"Should be cousin, but yes, my brother", Scott said as he held her hand.

"He's leaving?", Diana uttered as she watch Sebastian leave the hall.

"Sebastian doesn't stay long at parties.", Scott was slightly irritated given that Diana is concerned with Sebastian. "Come on, let's stay out of the crowd", he added.

Scott made their way out of the partying crowd to the veranda. He held Diana's waist to make sure she won't trip from the 5-inch stilletos she's wearing as they rush down the stairs.

"Scott wait.. There's something I want to give you.", Diana said as they stopped midway the stairs.

"What is?", Scott took one stop down, as he look up to Diana.

"Happy birthday", she handed a red box to Scott as she smiled pleasantly.

"You knew?", Scott gazed at the box in awe. This is his Luna's first gift. He have received so many gifts before, yet, this is the first time he got excited in opening one.

"I actually just got a hunch at first. Then I asked Cory, and he said it's your birthday.", she touched Scott's face and gently caressed his cheek with her thumb. "I had to rush to my jeweller for this. I hope you liked it", then she mouthe at Scott to open it.

"So that's why you're late?", Scott gave a broad frown. "Luna, you didn't have to. You are the best present I've received in my life..", he said as he opened the box.

It's a necklace and pendant of a howling wolf with one big red ruby, sitting on a cosmic diamond-studded crescent moon.

"It's beautiful, crescent moon..", he whispered as he wore it immediately.

"It's actually a full moon. If you twist the tail, it will complete the moon… like that", she said as she twisted the tail and locked it.

"Even more beautiful. Thank you, Luna", he briefly kissed her on the lips and gasped. "We have to hurry", he said as he smiled excitingly.
