DEPRESSION

Inside a spacious room. The whole room had been arranged overly explicit coming in a rectangular shape. The room was white but a part which was closer to the window was painted light brown. As it is in a modern decor, there were two old paintings of a mahogany tree on the white wall. Cornered by the window were a huge ivory fluffy sofa, an armchair and two hard stools.

"Alex, she's got a depression...you can tremendously feel it but yet you still....."

Alex ran his hand through his hair, his grey-blue eyes glued on the woman laying listlessly on the bed "She is the one and besides I am married to her...my child is inside her. Stop enunciating nonsense" he icily cried, his hands inside his trouser's pocket. One could hardly tell what thought was in his head but as he looked at the woman, his heart felt at ease. All that mattered was, that she was here with him and nothing else.

"Then try to negotiate with her...do something to make her happy" Zach mellowed at his friend. That morning after arranging for the jet, he had also followed his friend back to the city. He could technically feel the burning furnace while on that jet. His prayer was for the woman to be safe otherwise......gosh he couldn't bare to think of such a possibility.

Alex scoffed and sauntered towards the armrest. He sat down on the squeaky chair and laid his eyes once more on the pale woman. Her lips were chapped and a bandage was wrapped on her hand. She got herself injured when she ran off from him. Was he a plague? For the first time in his life, he could not pinpoint something.

Furthermore, who was this Xavier? Why was his wife thinking of another man?

Zach discreetly mumbled and chuckled "Adrain will die to see this look"

Alex shot him a death glare "Since you are of no use anymore...leave!!! I will continue with the care". Zach snorted "Then get me worked up again. I must admit she is beautiful man. What a fucking gorgeous woman? Too bad she is yours... I could have made her mine"

Alex gritted his teeth, his woman was off-limit yet this stupid man was lusting over her. He was angry.

"Zach! You do want to die...I could grant you that wish" His baritone voice was so deep, it could bring one to their knees and his eyes. Those beautiful set of grey-blue eyes had darkened terribly.

"She is not like those slutty white married women you bang...she....she is different" His voice softened and the dark icy glint lurking around his eyes lightened up. It was like all he could see was the woman on the bed. He remembered how they got together and made the baby.

Fuck!!! He cussed.

Bored, Zach arranged his things "Love is chaotic....where is that rebellious friend of mine? Looks like he is dead" He sighed and saw his friend glancing over at the woman "Try to make her happy...being a chaotic couple is terrible...it brings pain, anger and emotions you don't wanna have...as your friend, I advise you do what she wants"

Alex had a lot on his mind, he closed his eyes.

"I'll be leaving...I hope the hotel is classy and with soundproof doors...I might need a woman tonight" Zach grinned before leaving the room.

The cold breeze howled about in the unusually quiet room. Only the whistling wind and sound of breathing could be heard. Of a sudden, the lighted room was gradually dimmed and the temperature heated a bit. Amidst all, a pair of grey-blue eyes were seen in the dimmed room.

Alex opened his eyes and rose from the armchair. He gnashed his teeth and took little breaths to cool himself down before proceeding toward the woman. He made a space for himself on the bed abreast of the woman. Acknowledging his friend's opinion, he sighed and stroked her hair.

The woman stirred from the cold touch but a while after, she cooed and snuggled around the comfort.

"B...brother Xavier" She mumbled.

Alex's hand stiffened at the sudden cry. His eyes darkened for a moment but he was too fast to conceal the dull look. He caressed her brunette hair as a habit from the past.

"I am sorry for rejecting you...brother Xavier, I love you very much...please come back to me...I miss you, I miss home"

The more he tried to conceal his ego and determination, the more her cries shattered his hope.

Did she miss home? This was home...THEIR HOME.

"I will prove to you I am capable of staying side by side with you....noooo...brother don't leave me" Her slender fingers clutched on his shirt.

All along she only wanted to fulfil that promise. The depression.....was caused by ..... She hated me because I didn't give her that freedom. She must have been frustrated.

Alex, you messed up.
