Talking About Love

"Stop, you must be joking." Devy said, as she pushed back away from Rolin, trying to mask her embarrassed face.

"I never lie Miss Devy, especially to those I love." Rolin said, going straight for the jugular.

"L-l-love… You can't be serious, we just met." Devy said, her face steaming by this point.

"I'm serious Miss Devy! Please just give me a chance, and I'll prove to you that despite just meeting, our souls are meant to be connected as one." Rolin said enthusiastically.

"O-okay, I'll give you a chance, but don't expect a relationship, we'll only be friends." Devy said, finally giving in.

"Good, that's all I ask for." Rolin said, his face beaming with a smile.

"Also we can't meet in private, my parents won't allow it." Devy added.

"That's fine, we can invite Reymon, and your other siblings as well." Rolin said, not minding.

"Well good."

"Since we've agreed, let's not waste the rest of the day, we still have a lot to talk about." Rolin said with a smile.

With Rolin's years of experience, and panel to boot, the two spent the rest of the evening chatting and laughing, and Devy couldn't help but feel her heart accelerating for the first time in her life.

She had no idea what this feeling was, but she knew it felt good, and it only seemed to happen when she was with Rolin. Normally, these parties seemed to last forever from her perspective, but with Rolin to keep her company, the day seemed to end before it even started, much to her shock.

"Well I suppose that draws a close to our day, it was a pleasure meeting you for the second time, Miss Devy." Rolin said, smiling at her gently.

"It was nice meeting you as well, stableboy." Devy said with a laugh, though her heart felt a little empty at the idea that she would have to say goodbye.

"Don't be sad Miss Devy, our friendship has just begun, we still have a lot to see and do together." Rolin said, restoring Devy's slightly down mood.

"You're right. Well then, take care." Devy said, as she waved Rolin goodbye.

Rolin returned her wave, before heading off towards the exit, Reymon having long since been waiting for him by the door.

"You seem quite fond of my sister." He said with a slight laugh.

"What can I say, our souls connect." Rolin returned shamelessly.

"Really now? Well I hope you know she's already engaged." Reymon said, freezing Rolin mid-step.

"Engaged, why didn't she tell me?" Rolin asked with confusion.

"Who knows, maybe she likes you? Anyways, if you like living, you should probably keep your distance, or else her future husband will end your life before you even have a chance to say sorry."

"Damn, is he that strong?" Rolin said, feeling a little scared.

"It's not that he's strong, but rather his family that's strong, much stronger than even our Duvor Family." Reymon said.

"That powerful? Then how come I've never heard of them." Rolin asked curiously.

"Well they don't live in this city, in fact they are hundreds of miles away."

"Pft, hundreds of miles? Who cares if I piss the guy off, I'll be long gone before he could ever do anything." Rolin said with a laugh.

"Your grave." Reymon said, as he slightly shook his head.

"Relax, I'm just kidding, I'll make sure to keep some distance from now on. Anyways, I plan on meeting your sister in a few days, so how about you and your siblings join us."
