Chapter 5: Victory

When other knights heard the shouting of the young man they immediately opened the barrels and started to spill the oil on those barbarians.

When the oil was spilt on them the barbarians were relatively confused but they were on a battle so, they didn't have time to think.

The oil's slippery made the barbarians difficult to climb the ladder but they didn't stop.

When the scarred face man saw this he didn't pay any attention to it as he was confident enough the city would soon fall.

But then the knights suddenly threw carpets on them which made the scar-faced man confused but soon he realized what was going on "Tell the warriors to retreat" but it was too late.

One of the archers lit his arrows and fired towards the carpet.

And soon fire started to burn. The barbarians started to be burned in flame and shouted for help. When flame came in contact with the oil, it slowly became even more deadly and the barbarians seem to be in chaos

and many started to flee from the battle.

The scar-faced man immediately ordered a retreat to regroup his men as he clenched his fist swearing to return this humiliation.

As the barbarians started to retreat, Yang Feng smiled and pointed his sword towards the sky "We are victories"

The knights and the archers started to shout in happiness and celebrate.

Even the people of the city started to celebrate when they heard the news of their victory.

As the knights and archers started to return to the city after a day-long battle, the people started to cheer and welcome the soldiers after their harsh battle. As Yang Feng walked in front of the troops a blonde-haired boy came running towards Yang Feng. Nobody stopped the boy because he was the son of the hero who had died. From what he knew the hero had challenged a duel against the leader of the barbarians. He had fought ferociously and injured the chest and legs of the leader with his sword but in the end, lost. Even so, the injuries of their leader made them retreat which gave for time for the city.

As the young boy approached Yang Feng he said "I want to fight"

Yang Feng half kneeled and asked, "Why do you want to fight??"

The young boy replied "I want to be a knight like my father and die honourably " as the boy finished his sentence Yang Feng slapped the boy as he said "Your father died to protect this city not to die for honour. If you want to fight, fight not to die on the battlefield but fight to live so you can protect the city like your father for another day" as he said he stood up and turned back to his soldiers "It applies same to all of you if you want to fight to the death in the battlefield then I guess you don't care about your family but I am not saying you should not become a warrior to care for your family but to live for another day to see your family once more" as Yang Feng said he looked at the sky and said "Becoming a warrior is a great honour but it comes with even greater responsibilities and duties I hope you never forget fight to live not to die"
