The One With The Most Potential

"Shemer, next time before you make a move, you have to tell me. Everyone was shocked by what you did. Do you understand?" I nagged at him.

"I am sorry, master. I wasn't able to think properly. My body just moves on its own as soon as I notice the demonic energy. I hate those filthy things," He said.

You can see the disgust on his face as he talks about demons.

"You have to apologize to brother Anael. You almost let him faint," I commanded.

"But I don't apologize to humans except for you, master." He retorted.

"Little Evangeline, it's okay. I understood that Shemer was just moving to protect you."

He smiled nervously while looking at Shemer, who seems to be threatening him with his glare.

I took his hand and squeezed it to warn him to stop. He then turned and smiled innocently towards me.

"Uhm, excuse me. Can I ask if he is the Shemer we all know?" Lexus timidly inquired.

"Yes human, you are correct. I am Shemer, Timeless Warfare Conservator, the legendary sword created by Bathor. Now I am the servant of my master, the princess of the Evernight's." He arrogantly said.

"Oh, my god! Shemer can change to a human? I thought swords can just have consciousness?" Alessia excitedly asks.

"Hmm, a Claramond? It seems that Camarin's descendants maintained her teachings. But you are still far from reaching her level." Shermer haughtily expressed his opinion as he observed Alessia.

Alessia was so shocked by Shemer's evaluation.

She grew up hearing the praises of everyone around her that she had inherited Camarin's talent in inscriptions.

"May I ask if you knew my ancestor?" She fearfully asked.

"Yes, I know your ancestor. That girl's talent in inscriptions is very hard to come by. I can say that no one had yet achieved her level to this day." He looked Alessia in the eyes and continued,

"You have great talent, but don't let other people's praises get inside your head, human. It will be your downfall."

After hearing Shemer's advice, Alessia became silent. Everybody was tensed because of Shemer's presence.

He observed each in every one of them as if he's looking at them like how he looked at an animal.

I nudged him and ask,

"Shemer, are you scaring them? Look at them, I can almost see their sweat falling from their forehead."

"Hahaha! Don't worry master, I am just testing these kids. I just want them to understand that because they have famous ancestors, they don't need to train anymore. I can see that these kids have great talents but they keep on slacking because everyone praised them as geniuses." He calmly explained.

I was very surprised by Shemer's explanation. I thought he only cares about himself but it seems that he is close with our ancestors.

"Shemer, I just realize that you are a very loyal friend. Even though the words that came out of your mouth are harsh, it is still for their good." I patted his shoulders and smiled at him.

"Master, you're making me blush! Hahaha! I just want these kids to understand that their ancestors did not become famous for other people's praise, but for their hard work.

Also, their ancestors have asked me in the past that if ever they have descendants, I must remind them not to be arrogant and be reliant on their powers."

"I understand."

"Plus, they will be a very good help for you in the future, master."

"Ha! It seems like you already guess what's on my mind."

"Of course, as a perfect servant for my master, I must be able to understand your thoughts." He then bowed his head towards me.

"Hahaha! Nothing escapes you. Now can you stop what you're doing? We still have to know how to remove the demonic energy inside brother Anael." I said.

"Understood master," He then turned to them and said, "The words I said are not just for the descendant of Camarin, but also each one of you."

He looked at them one by one and called their ancestors' names.

"As I observe each in every one of you, the one with the highest potential to bear their ancestor's name is him."

We all turned to the person that Shemer pointed to, and we were so shocked at who it was.

It was none other than the person that almost fainted earlier, Anael. Everybody was so shocked that Olek's mouth almost choked with his tea.

"Cough-enough. I'm sorry guys, I was just shocked by what Shemer has said." He said.

"Well, that was a surprise," Aleksandro exclaimed.

"Are you sure, older brother?" Skylur questioned.

I almost fell from my chair when Skylur said older brother, and I can also see the smugness on Shemer's face.

"Older brother? What do you mean, Skylur?" Lexine inquired.

"Oh, everyone, I would like to announce that Shemer became our older brother as of today." He smiled after telling them.

"WHAT?!" Again with the chorus.

Ah! I almost forgot that.

I looked at Shemer and saw that he was also looking at me. As if he's waiting for me to call his older brother as well. I just glared at him and he just laughed it off.

I then gestured him to come closer and whispered,

"Don't even think about that. I will call you big brother.

"Let's see." He replied playfully.

"Skylur, can you please explain how a legendary sword became your older brother?" Sanyi finally spoke up.

"Well, it was because little Evie wants him to be her younger brother and mother did not agree because of Shemer's age." He explained.

As soon as they realize Skylur's words, they immediately laugh loudly together.

"HAHAHA."

"Oh my god! My stomach hurts from laughing. Hahaha! I admire you, little sister, Evangeline." Liam said as he kept clutching his stomach while laughing out loud.

"Wow! Your the best, little Evie." Lexus said while wiping his tears.

"Stop it, you guys. Little Evangeline just wants a younger brother. What's wrong with that?" At least Lexine did not join them in laughing.

While I just saw my brothers and cousins laugh their hearts out. When they saw me looking at them, they immediately stop.

I also saw Alessia and Alik just smiled. It seems like Alessia recovered from earlier.

While Sanyi was just shaking his head from everyone's reaction.

I looked at Shemer and saw that he seems to enjoy their reaction. I pinch his side and he immediately realizes that I am pissed.

"Are you guys laughing at my master?" He asked, and everyone stops laughing.
