"What are you doing here, Sir?" Mia asked while blocking Julian from entering the kitchen.

"Why don't you reply to my message? Don't you know how much I worry?" the man replied while rolling his eyes.

“Ah, that,” the girl sighed before gulping. "I haven't had time to read it yet."

Detecting the doubts peeking through the gaps in the words, the CEO's eyes narrowed. “What did you do to not have five seconds to open my message?”

"I was playing with Cayden. When I got home, I immediately cooked spaghetti,” the girl answered with a flat expression.

"Is that true?" Julian inquired, tilting his head. A second later, he broke through, following the scent that called his nose.
