For a few moments, I got carried away in this intimacy, but eventually, I remembered I had to return to my mother's room because I was determined to sleep with her. So, I pushed him away from my body.
"Why?" he asked.
"Charlie..." I sighed. "I appreciate your effort to come here, but I really can't sleep with you. I returned here because I wanted to spend time with my mom, to take care of her... I want to hug her until morning," I explained, hoping he'd understand that my priority was not just him now.
He fell silent with a perplexed gaze.
"I'm sorry," I whispered, then leaned in to kiss his lips again while cradling both of his cheeks.
"Angel..." He gently pushed me, creating distance between us. "You don't need to feel guilty towards me. I was wrong not to understand you. You should spend time with your mother... She means a lot to you, and I don't mind. What you're doing is the right thing. You're a good girl," he said with a smile.
