Reincarnation

Henry woke up to the beautiful sounds of nature he thought he'll never hear again. slowly opening his eyes to the majestic view of the glorious blue sky and magnificent trees and some cute animals staring at him curiously.

"What happened? Was it all just a dream?" Henry said as he checked around his surrounding asking the still staring animals.

"But how did i end up here? And where is my shirt?" he kept asking noticing he didn't have any shirt on, but was wearing a black trouser that fitted him perfectly. 

He kept checking out the area, still dazed and confused at his current situation. But then he heard a soft growl come from above in front of him, and that's when he finally decided to pay attention to his close surrounding.

He noticed that he was not on grass but rather on hard, solid dusty earth and he was surrounded by some kind of earth wall, and that's when he also noticed that the 'cute' animals staring at him were not so cute after all.

Standing and growling in front of him were five huge, black wolves, if one could even call them that, they each had four red eyes, all 8ft tall, each having menacing fangs and claws that screamed danger, and to top it all he was in a pit like terrain at most 12 feet deep and was very wide.

"What the hell are these!" he yelled in his mind. Although they didn't look ugly, they didn't look friendly either. Someone so bold had just appeared in their territory, and they were not happy about it.

"Shit i don't want to die again," he screamed in his head as he had come to realize the obvious.

He was in another world and it wasn't a dream, he didn't know how, but what he knew was that he couldn't just die like that, he had just arrived, he had to survive.

"I don't want to go back to that abyss, i must find a way to escape," he thought, as the only thing on his mind at that moment was to not get eaten.

Just as he was thinking of what to do, the biggest wolf in the group who seemed fit to be the leader of the pack made the first move, he leapt from his spot growling even louder as if screaming 'There's no escape for you, Human'

He had almost landed on his prey when Henry snapped out of his thoughts and quickly jumped to the side, avoiding the dangerous blow that might have cost him his life.

"Woah, that was really close! I could have lost my head just now." Henry thought

"I better get out of here, quick!" he panicked while glancing around the pit, looking for a way out.

The four-eyed wolf was now more angry, a weak, lesser creature had just evaded it's attack, it was an insult to wolf's pride, it's face was completely distorted, showing off all it's long fangs.

The rest of the wolf's pack just stood there watching as they felt, it was something between their leader and this human, so they let their guard down as they anticipated how they would share the meat in front of them.

As the wolf was about to make another attack towards henry, a deafening roar shook the area, Henry knew that it couldn't have come from a wolf, this was something much more terrifying.

A huge saber-toothed lion with mad red eyes with a mane that looked like it was on fire, with an aura that depicted death.

Standing 10ft in front of Henry and the wolf pack was this great abomination scanning them one by one before voicing out another roar, the other 3 wolves didn't think twice as they all took to their heels each jumping out of the pit recognizing who held more power, and leaving their poor alpha behind.

The bigger wolf might be the pack leader but this was the king of the freaking jungle, every single instinct Henry had was telling him to get his balls out the pit immediately.

Even the leader was terrified but was definitely unlucky. As henry stood up to find a way out of the pit, the lion pounced on the alpha ripping one of it's fore limbs apart from it's body, then dug it's claws into the already passed out wolf's head

And as if it were possible, the wolf regained consciousness letting out a loud howl or in this case a very loud shriek, as it slowly passed away giving the lion a flawless victory and a big lunch.

Luckily for henry, he had found a way out of the pit when the lion was busy ripping apart the alpha and munching on it's body, it was fully immersed in it's meal.

"Sucks to be you huh," he sneered at the wolf, who had a horrified look on it's face, it has died with terror and fear, he looked at the scene one last time, before fleeing the place as he dashed into the inner woods of the forest.

"Damn, that was so close, i could have died back there, but i pity that wolf though," Henry said with an emphatic look as he reminisced the scene of the wolf been torn to shreds. A chill ran down his spine as he swore in his heart to not die in the hands... or claws of that beast.

"I think i should be out of sight already " he panted as he had ran a long way from the pit, he was now very deep in the forest.

Then he started looking at the trees and some plants one after the other.

"Oh this is relieving, i can recognize this plantations." he said touching and sniffing some of the plants.

"Okay so I'm definitely on earth, so what the hell are those things? Cause I'm very sure they are not normal animals."

"That lion was as huge as a car, and it's mane was made of fire for fuck's sake," Henry panicked starting to feel a sense of uneasiness grow.

"But I'm still safe, it should take the lion atleast a few hours to finish and digest his lunch before going hunting again," he said

"Perhaps i could rest a wh..."

ROOOOOAAAAR

Henry was cut off by the lion's roar, clearly it was giving a kind of compassionate headstart for whomever creature would be it's next victim.

"Or maybe not," Henry muttered as he heard the soul piercing roar of the great saber-toothed lion just few meters away from him, indicating that the lion was definitely on his tail.

But why him you ask, i guess he's not so lucky after all.

"What! Why? Sigh* guess he's always had his eye on me,"

What henry didn't know was that the lion could smell him from meters away, having already getting his scent from the wolf's pit earlier.

Henry resumed his danger dash through the jungle as the lion chased after him with it's steps getting closer and closer, as if it's life depended on feasting on Henry's meat.

Truly he'd always had his eye on henry as the leader wolf was just a bonus meal who was in it's way to deliciousness.

Henry ran and ran as he thought of how unlucky he was

"Well even in this world I'm very unfortunate. I got reincarnated just so I can die again," he sighed 

"But I'm here anyways and i will make this second chance worth every second, I'm not dying again, not today," Henry resolved making up his mind to survive till the last breath.

And as if been enchanted, he suddenly stopped in his tracks and turned back, facing and standing on the path, which the lion was coming at with incredible speed.

Henry took a deep breath "I can do this," he declared as he prepared to do the most stupid thing anybody in this situation would do. Fight the Beast

Finally the lion reached him and it also suddenly stopped in it's tracks with a confused and surprised look, not believing how stupid his prey could be, who or what in their right mind would willingly stop and offer itself to annihilation.

"I don't know what I'm doing but i know I'm doing something. Heck i might even die, but I can't run forever," Henry stated as he took another breath which was probably his last. 

As the saber-toothed beast snapped out of it's own confusion and it stared at henry, this time with a look that stated 'Well at least you tried, I'll try to give you a quick death'

Then the flames on it's mane suddenly spread to the claws on all it's paw making it seem like its paws were on fire much like it's mane, and then getting into a jumping stance ready to pounce on henry and end him, when something suddenly clicked in Henry.

"Wait! What the hell was i thinking?" henry screamed in his head as he saw the little power up the lion had just gotten.

"Isn't this an overkill, even for you," henry said directing his question at the beast.

But the beast responded otherwise, as it began coming closer to henry, to make the finishing move.

"I am screwed for sure, oh well back to the abyss for me." henry said dejectedly completely forgetting about the resolution of survival he made not long ago.

Henry prepared to jump out of its way as he had no other option, at least to die trying a little bit of effort, but the lion had moved very swiftly for him to see and gotten close enough as it stretched it's claws to strike his head.

Henry had a look of horror on his face, he was too scared to try and even move, out of his last desperation, he raised his hands to cover his head as if it would do anything, but suddenly;

A gold interfaced screen appeared in his face almost blinding his eyes.
