First Hunt

The hovercar landed at a spot in the outskirts of the city. Henry got out and walked over to a small building just at the entrance to the hunting area

Hunting grounds were basically forests that have been isolated from cities, due to them being infested with beast's whose population only increased daily. A tall wall was spread far around the entire ground

The rules stated that anyone could hunt in hunting grounds as long as they had a hunting license.

Henry didn't have one so he was required to get it or pay a fee, and he was not prepared to give out a dime of his newly earned credits

He walked into the building and went directly to the counter, where he met a male receptionist

"Hello," he said "I'm here to get a hunting license,"

The man at the reception desk looked at henry with a confused expression

"Are you sure, you're in the right place? This isn't the arcade, kid, get lost,"

Henry immediately frowned "What exactly is the problem with the adults of this world, they just don't seem to like kids much," Henry thought

"Look old man, does it look like I'm joking around. I'm here for a hunting license!" He retorted raising his voice slightly.

The man was suprised, he didn't expect Henry to reply him. He became annoyed

"Get out of here kid, before I make you,"

"Hmm, empty threats from a man with an empty skull" Henry voiced out

"This... you brat, you'll pay for that," the man replied as he got up, seemingly about to try and attack Henry

But before he could even leave his spot, Henry brought out a small, gold coloured insignia, one with the structure of a snowflake

The man immediately calmed down "This..."

"Yes, it's a high ranking marking of the Glacial order faction," Henry stated, pride written on his face

The Glacial order was Felicity's own faction, located mainly in arcadia, the insignia represented a high ranking position in the faction and everyone knew that. It was one of the things henry found in the storage ring which he had checked on his way to the hunting ground

"Apologies... young master, what can I do for you," the man said meekly

Henry smiled "So this is what it feels like," he said inwardly

"Like i said before, I'm here for a hunting license,"

"Right away," the man replied as he turned on his desktop

"Your name, and age please," He said trying to sound as polite as possible

"Henry... Henry myers," Henry replied

The man immediately raised his head and looked at Henry curiously, wondering who he was

"Hmm, something wrong?" Henry asked, feeling high and mighty

"Ah... no... nothing," he replied as he inputed the name

"Age?" he asked.

"Hmm... 18," Henry replied after thinking long and hard "It's better to begin with that, i was just had a few weeks to my 19th birthday before I died anyways," He thought

The man took more information and within 5 minutes processed the card, Henry took it and left the building, going into the main hunting area

The man stared at Henry's back as he left " Who was he? Perhaps a distant relative of the ice queen," he wondered

Henry entered the thick forest confidently, awaiting the appearance of beast

[That was quite a show back there, I didn't know you had it in you to express dominance] Miley complimented

Henry chuckled "Like i said before, there's a lot you don't know about me, things you won't even find in my memories. Things that are buried... deep in my mind," he replied as a sense of nostalgia and regret washed over him

Miley didn't understand a single word he said [I think the 200 pushups you did is messing with your head. Anyways, you look rather excited about this hunt, for someone with weak stats and two non-combat skills]

"Oh dear miley, i need not skills or abilities for this hunt, mother has made me invincible," he replied with a wide grin as he advanced into the forest

Miley was confused at his words, and was about to retort when a growl was heard from the distance

Henry moved closer to the sound and came out into a small meadow where a pack of four-eyed wolves were waiting for him, 5 of them glaring angrily at Henry for breaching their territory

He smiled as he remembered his first encounter with this creatures, he was a scared helpless boy, but not anymore

An information suddenly popped up from his bracelet

[Four-eyed blackwolf (E Rank): no magical ability]

Henry looked at the info with satisfaction, he knew about this already. Hunting grounds only had F-B ranked beast's, the higher ranked ones could be found in actual forests, like the one he had woken up

The leader of the pack holwed, giving a signal for attack

"Alright, better prepare mine too," Henry said taking a battle stance

Then suddenly, the storage ring on his finger glowed, and a small black pistol appeared in his right hand. It radiated with purple energy as Henry activated it

The wolves saw this and immediately attacked, two of the wolves charged in first; one went for Henry's gut, while the other went straight for his head

Henry activated his time perception and the wolves looked like they had entered slo-mo, both hanging in the air their claws and fangs out

But Henry was able to move normally, he immediately pointed the pistol to the first wolf closest to him and fired a beam of purple energy. The energy pierced through the wolves skull, killing it in one shot, but it was remained mid air.

He quickly sidestepped and fired another blast of energy at the second wolf, hitting it directly at the side of it's head

He canceled the skill and the two wolves immediately fell to the ground, dead. The rest of the pack immediately put on their guard, this person had killed their two of their own in just one second

But Henry didn't care about their expressions, he didn't mind their presence at all. They were afterall merely E Ranked, he was distracted with the message he had always wanted to receive since he got the system

[Congratulations, you have gained 2 exp]

He smiled and waved the message away before directing his gaze on the rest of the wolves

"Wow, they actually waited? They are truly unintelligent, well saves me the trouble," he thought

Two of the remaining wolves charged forward, both aiming for Henry's head, going directly for the kill

But once again Henry activated the skill and both wolves met the same fate as their peers

The same notification appeared again, but before Henry could check it, the leader of the pack immediately lunged at him, baring it's fangs in anger

"Sigh* Don't this creatures ever learn," he thought and his ring glowed again, this time equipping him with a long red dagger

The wolf swiped it claws at Henry, but he swerved to the side and stabbed the wolf in the neck, and without waiting for the it to react, dragged the dagger along it's neck, cutting the wolves throat

It lifeless body fell to the ground and Henry stood victorious

"Damn this rare grade weapons mother sent deals a lot of damage," he voiced out

Weapons armours and other important equipments were graded as; common, uncommon, rare, epic and legendary. A rare grade weapon was enough to deal with a C and sometimes weak B Ranked beast. So the E ranked wolves Henry had massacred without a scratch were merely a walk in the pak

He was about to harvest their mana cores when he saw a quick message appear from the system

[5 E rank mana cores added to inventory]

"Woah, it has an auto claim. Hehe this might just come in handy," Henry thought with a mischievous smile

He sat down on a rock and read the system messages excitedly

[Congratulations, you have gained a total of 10 exp]

*Exp [15/15]

[Congratulations, you have levelled up]

Henry smirked with joy "So I get shop points for every level up, cool,"

"This is actually a lot helpful, my speed would increase when I use the skill, this day just keeps getting better and better," Henry voiced out, feeling euphoric

"Hmm, this new quest shouldn't be hard to achieve," he thought before willing for his status to appear.

"Yeah whatever, i have to allocate the stat points." Henry muttered

"Agility increases with speed rate, so there's no much need, I think perception would be better, to improve my time perception skill and strength too. I've got quite the stamina, and defense is well... it can wait,"

"Allocate 5 stat points each to strength and perception," he ordered

"Alright, that ought to do. That reminds me, Miley why didn't the weapons I'm using give me additional stats?" Henry asked

[Only Epic grade equipments and above can alter stats and have skills of their own, there might be a few rare grade weapons that posses skills, but it all depends on the techsmith's capability] Miley replied

"Oh, i see," Henry said and was about to stand up when Miley stopped him

[Hold it, i have questions of my own!] She said

"Huh? Okay,"

[What the bloody hell was that, back there with the wolves? You were a completely different person, and don't give me that nonsense about the things I don't know about you] Miley loudly voiced out in his head

"Then, i have nothing else to say," Henry replied

[But how did you suddenly know how to use those weapons?]

"Oh, that? Just few skills i learnt in my past life. How to evade attacks, use knives, guns and more," He replied casually

[But... i can't see anything like that in your head]

Henry chuckled "Didn't i tell you, I've buried them deep in my mind, I'll love if we didn't talk about it. They are filled with horrible things... things i had to do to survive, things i do not wish to remember," he continued, his expression dark

Miley was worried "I could have sworn i felt a bit of excitement from him as he killed those beast's, it was like he enjoyed it so much and didn't want to stop" She mentally stated

"Oh Hen, i hope you don't have a dark side. I doubt he'll tolerate it,"

"Alright if that's all then, I'll like to get going, I'm not done yet," Henry said standing up from the rock. He was about moving when a message interrupted him again, but this time, it was a call from his mother; Felicity.
