“Think you can stay awake?”Jack teased, looping an arm through hers as they crossed the parking lot.
Lori stifled a yawn.“I’m up.”
Brandt took her other arm, keeping her firmly between them.Despite the late hour, there was still a crowd milling around the front of the theater, lots of noisy kids and couples out on dates. They joined the end of the line, the three of them craning their necks to study the movies with late shows still playing.“So,”he said,“what’s everyone want to see?”
“There’s that new Drew Barrymore rom-com,”Jack suggested.
Lori gave him an odd look.“Seriously?”
Jack shrugged.“What?She’s cute.”
“If we’re going to do romance,”Brandt said,“I want to see some skin.”
“On a date?”Jack asked.“That’s vulgar.”
Lori piped up,“What’s wrong with seeing tits?”
“See?”Brandt crowed.“We’ll do the Fifty Shadesknockoff.”
