Trial

Anna smiled, she actually didn't know how to act around the place that wasn't hers. It still felt like she didn't belong there.

Like she was stepping in someone else's space. Though Kristofer assured her that she shouldn't be and that she could claim the place as hers, she couldn't help but feel like an outsider.

So, she smiled as wide as she could as Nikki came knocking on the door. Anna convinced herself that it would make her feel better.

"Hi, come in" she greeted. Nikki squinted her eyes at her. "What?"

Nikki eyed her warily before coming inside. She raised her hands, showing Anna the plastic bags containing the food she brought over.

"Your favorite." She claimed.

Anna squealed and dragged Nikki towards the kitchen.

"This is an upgrade from your apartment. But, dang, Anna." Anna paused mid opening the packed food, her eyes scanning her friend and waited for her to go on.

"What?" she repeated.
