The Arrival Of Henry

The next day, we were in class for lectures.

I didn't even listen to whatever was being taught.

All I thought about was my dad. I kept crying silently so that no one could notice because I hated pity.

No teacher bothered to ask me any questions. I guess they've all been told about it.

Harry kept looking at me throughout the class and a time came I was forced to ask him.

"Need anything?"

"No" he replied and faced the other side.

I remembered the day my dad bought me a pink teddy for my birthday and I was so happy. I excused myself and left the class.

Reaching the bathroom, I bent down and wept. I wept loudly and uncontrollably.

Brace yourself now, everything will be fine. I consoled myself.

I then returned to the class, promising myself not to cry again.

"Im happy to inform you that a new student is joining us today"

I heard someone say. It was the Principal.

I didn't even know when he entered the class. He came in with a very handsome boy but he was not as handsome as Harry.

"Wtf!" I heard Harry say.

"You are welcome" everybody chorused.

"I'm happy to join you guys" The boy replied.

"There are no more empty seats here sir" The class captain said.

"Oh really? The principal asked.

"Yes sir"

"Ok, I'll take him to the next class" The principal said as he and the boy left the class.

"Why can't he stay here? Carolyn said angrily.

"Maybe he'll sit down on your brainless head"

The class captain replied and everyone bursted into laughter, including me.

It was so funny.

I looked at Harry and he smiled.

"What! Harry? Smiling? At me? No, I must be imagining"

I thought as I looked away.

Later in the afternoon, the principal entered our class again and called Harry.

Everyone looked at Harry from where he stood to when he met the principal and I was forced to mutter "Harry is handsome!"

"Your mom told me you always fought with him?"

Harry didn't reply. That was the first time I saw him not replying a teacher's question. I guess he was angry.

"You guys? Harry's mom? Harry and who always fought?" I thought.

"Whatever might be the cause, please do not fight here" He said and left.

Harry walked back to his sit and sat.

I was dying to ask him whom he was always fighting with.

"Or could it be that new boy?" I thought.

Minutes later, the new boy entered our class and all eyes were on him. He smiled at everyone and came to meet Harry.

"Bro, I need your scheme of work for this year" The boy said, stretching his body.

"Bro? are they brothers?" I thought.

Harry pulled out his books and placed them on his desk.

"Bro, I still need a pen" the boy said.

"I've almost run out of ink" Harry replied.

The boy looked at my side and said. "Hi, please I need your pen"

I quickly brought it out from my locker and handed it over to him.

He copied all he wanted to copy and stretched his hand to return the pen.

As I was about collecting it, he held my hand and said.

"You're sitting beside my brother? That must be a lot of work"

I smiled and replied.

"Not at all. He's just a normal person, besides, he's not a job".

"I see. What's your name? You are beautiful by the way"

"Thanks, I'm Princess" I replied.

"So.... Princess, nice meeting...."

"Henry, you can go to your class now, I think you are done here. Harry interrupted as he packed his books back into his locker.

"I'm Henry. I'd like see you later" The boy said and left the class.

Tasha looked at me and smiled mischievously.
