Rewind

It's not supposed to happen like this, but the real question here is, how it even happened in the first place.

Cadmus would often find himself looking back to that time. He would because he'd also often find himself wondering how in the world did he fall for Blair.

It was seven years ago. They were both seven-year-old.

Everyone had only become second-graders. It was the opening ceremony that day.

"Ladies and gentlemen, the chosen few. Thanks to your hard work and the support of your parents, you have made it through the previous semester. Be proud and celebrate. To all the students of Luna Solis Academy, congratulations on moving up."

Luna Solis Academy.

One of the most prominent educational institutions in the country that's known for its renowned prestige, which roots in breeding outstanding personalities and illustrious figures. Distinguished as an exclusive private school, only selected elites of the upper-class society and strictly assessed scholarship availers are allowed to register.

Those who showed exemplary achievements, including passing each phase of the entrance examination, would have the privilege to be officially enrolled. As proof of their accomplishment, they get to wear the academy's sun-and-moon emblem along with their uniform, which consists of a double-breasted light grey blazer with six buttons, a black bottom and tie, and some silver embellishments.

'It was too easy for me to get in, of course. They could've tried harder.'

Cadmus had attended the opening ceremony with Jamir, Irvin, and Russell.

Jamir is the grandson of a military general, a boy with brown hair and eyes. Irvin, second in line to inheriting a hospital chain, has features of a much paler shade. Then, there's Russell, a gray-eyed redhead, who'll be succeeding the head of a media company.

The four of them had been together since first grade, though it's mostly because their families were close to his. He knew it wasn't completely out of their own will to befriend him, but even then, he decided to let them stick around to keep up appearances. The group of four spent the rest of the event alongside one another, surrounded by other students.

"Just as expected of Master Cadmus, everyone keeps wanting to talk with you."

"With how many they are, I can't even recall when's the last time it's only us."

"It's crazy how a second-grader like Master Cadmus can be so popular already."

Before he got to be known as Campus Prince, he would go by Master Cadmus.

When he passed through the crowd, heading over to the banquet hall where the after-party would be held, all eyes were fixed on him. He would enjoy the attention to the fullest, not knowing it would soon become something he'd eventually get sick of.

Everybody wanted to hang out with Cadmus. Everybody wanted to be like Cadmus.

'But what's new with that? It's the same old thing.'

He had paid no heed to that thought at the time. Not when he was yet to face something out of the common –

Which soon came shortly after Russell made one particular comment.

"Speaking of popularity, I know someone who's like the complete opposite of what Master Cadmus has, and I bet you wanna hear it!"
