Chapter 5: Spark

The horses were panting, clearly made quite the distance without a rest. Adding the cold and poor equipment to that, they were on the brink of death.

Rhiharis felt their pain but there was nothing he could do. He stopped caressing them and decided to check the wagon.

The wagon was covered in a cloth cover with many patches. He slowly opened it and what welcomed him was the sight of four barrels and three boxes.

He saw one of the boxes closed very tightly, wrapped in bandages. It was clearly more important than anything else on the wagon.

Thus he left it for the last and started opening barrels first. They were filled with different kinds of alcohol. One barrel was full of mead, another with some kind of rustic beer. The other two had fruit wines of different ingredients.

This discovery put a bitter smile to his face. He put his hands one of the barrels and tried the taste of the mead.

"I am indeed alive…" he muttered.

He closed the barrels again and continued checking boxes. Two boxes had all kinds of things in them. Different colors and sizes of clothes, even leather armor and a sword. He pulled the clothes one by one and saw a similar symbol on some of them.

'It is probably the household of the person I possessed of. Considering the poison and condition of the cargo, he had to flee with his life on the line. It's not smart to show these around. He may have grievances before his death but they're over with him gone. I may have no clear goal at the moment but I can't let my future be affected by somebody I don't even know.'

After thinking that he put all the clothes with an emblem embroidered on to one box. And contents of that box to the other one. He put the box with dangerous clothes to the side, to deal with it in an appropriate time.

After dealing with everything he proceeded to check the last box. He carefully opened it and surprised with the things inside.

Like the green colored stone he saw earlier on the necklace, the box was full of colored stones. But this time all of them were colored red. He took one of them out and tried to feel what was these stones about.

He closed eyes once more and felt a considerable amount of fire mana stored inside the stone. It was much more concentrated than the mana on air.

He knitted his brows and decided to just try meditating with and without these stones.

He put the stone down and sat on the wagon his legs crossed.

In his previous life, he tried whichever method he could find on his way to the peak. The road was tough and not everyone would just give him their inheritance for no reason. Thus he had to mix all kinds of methods and it took a long time to come across high grade meditation methods that could be used till Tier 9.

With the change of every method, the new one would be harder to adapt and take his time more than it should. Thus this time he decided to build his foundation with those high grade methods.

For fire, he thought about what was the most suitable for him. After a while he opened his eyes and took a look towards the sun of this solar system. At that time he finally decided.

'Path of the Eternal Sun God…'

He closed his eyes once again and started breathing steadily. His mind was focused on the meditation method and following it without any mistakes.

He felt small amounts of mana gathering towards his abdomen from the outside. He tried it for five minute and got confused with the situation. Mana was indeed scarce in the air but it was much more easier to gather it and integrate it with his body. In his previous life it took him days to move even a little bit mana to create his first core. Understanding the laws governing elements was the most important part of the meditation methods. Every single one of them was based on different approaches to be with those laws.

He opened his eyes and his gaze fell on the red colored stones.

'It seems there is a solution for the scarceness of mana. But laws of this place are quite unique. I feel like they are abundant and more welcoming.'

He felt like this planet was a blessing in disguise. Maybe even if he put the ancient formation aside, he could reach Tier 9 with all elements. His body had not the best start since it seems like he was around twenty years old. At least it was what he felt when circulated all the fire mana inside his body. But twenty years were nothing to him, in his previous life his condition at the start was not much better than this.

He quickly grabbed a handful of stones and sat down again.

After a minute, a wave of heat started radiating from his body. The snow evaporated directly when it almost touch his skin.

After ten minutes, the snow covering the cloth on the wagon started to melt. At that time he felt a spark ignited in his abdomen. Thus he concentrated harder.

After twenty minutes, nails of the wagon started heating up; they started making noises due to expansion. The wood didn't catch fire but it couldn't expanse like the metals on it.

His body couldn't handle the heat either and thus Rhiharis opened his eyes and looked around him.

"It is not ideal, my gathering speed is too much." He muttered and jumped off the wagon. He took the reins of horses and pulled them towards a tree nearby. After tying them, he grabbed the box filled with red colored stones and dived into the woods in search of a suitable place.

After leaving tracks behind for almost an hour, a frozen lake appeared before him.

He felt lucky it didn't take him longer to find the place. He may have gathered some fire mana inside his body but if it took longer than that even he could start feeling cold.

With an excited look, he started treading towards the lake.
