Steppenwolf

[Arnold POV]

We were standing inside the elevator waiting for it to take us to the desired floor.

Cyborg spoke up "Guys listen up, expect resistance when we get to the lower floor. I'm picking up something big."

Hearing this,I thought 'That can't be good.'

As the doors to the elevator opened, my instincts screamed at me to dodge, and I quickly clapped my hands.

Good thing I did too, as whatever was charging at us was doing so with enough force to cause a cloud of smoke to appear in the room in front of us.

A voice speaks out "So you are the ants that dare to get in our way."

And from the smoke walks out a 7ft tall man wearing heavy metallic armour and wielding a giant axe.

I attempt to taunt the man,saying "What's with you guys and getting our species wrong. It's Homo sapiens, you illiterate baboons."

It seems to work, as he calmly replies "I am going to feed you your own guts."

He charges at me, once again with frightening speed. I quickly switch places with a parademon barely avoiding the attack, while the others also dodge out of the way.

'Shit, this guy is fast. Kalibak doesn't even compare to him' I thought.

That man from before once again spoke up "Celebrate, I Steppenwolf shall personally lead all of you to your graves, you mortals."

'Ah shit, me and my big mouth' this thought ran through my mind.

I was not ready to take on someone like Steppenwolf, especially with my primary cursed technique exhausted. To top it all off, it would still take me a bit before I could use «Cleave» again.

He once again charges at me, and I clap, quickly teleporting away, but this time it doesn't work out so well.

I sense a lot of danger, and quickly use my cursed energy to harden and reinforce my body.

Good thing I did too, as an axe quickly flies towards me, and causes a slash across my chest.

The axe quickly levitates back towards Steppenwolf's hand.

'Damn, that really hurts.' I think of a way to somehow try and heal my sounds.

I could buy a «one minute of RCT» coupon, but that would only be useful if Steppenwolf was gone. On top of that, El needs physical money for transactions, it doesn't take money in my account and I only had enough money to buy two coupons before I'd run out of money in the inventory.

As the Justice League begins to engage Steppenwolf, having dealt with the few parademons that were in the room alongside him, I try to plan a way to win 'I should've kept more money in the inventory. Fuck it, no use regretting it now.'

I did have a way to beat him, but it would cause significant issues to me as well. Basically it was supposed to be my ace against Darkseid and I could currently only use it once.

Soon enough Batman comes to my side, and offers me an adrenaline shot to ease the pain, which I gladly accept.

While this happens, Wonder Woman directly starts to confront Steppenwolf, taking him one-on-one.

She rushed at him deftly hitting him with a roundhouse kick, disorienting him, causing him to take a few steps back before hitting him with a flurry of punches.

Unfortunately Steppenwolf soon recovered, grabbing her by the wrist, before throwing her, sending her flying.

Following this he is suddenly hit by a massive blast of energy, the source of which is Cyborg's energy cannon.

Sadly this seems to have little effect on him, as he slowly begins walking towards Cyborg, using his axe to block the energy beam.

He soon gets close to Cyborg and grabs his arm, but before he can do anything else, Wonder Woman tackles him straight into a wall, before grabbing him, and delivering a suplex.

He still recovers rather quickly, grabbing hold of Wonder Woman and slamming her into the ground before rushing at cyborg who fires at him with his energy cannon.

Knowing that losing Cyborg could jeopardise the whole mission, I quickly enforce my body with cursed energy after which I clap my hands.

I switch places with Steppenwolf, causing him to hit nothing but air. Unfortunately a stray blast from Cyborg's blaster hits me as well.

He quickly apologises "Shit, so sorry for hitting you"

I quickly responded "No worries, I knew the risk. Keep your guard up"

The axe once again comes at me, but I clap and switch places with Steppenwolf. It does nothing, however, as he simply grabs his axe with one hand.

Batman then throws a couple smoke pellets below him, buying enough time for me to retreat and compose myself.

"Brace yourself" I tell Wonder Woman, as Steppenwolf charges at me once again.

I wait for him to come close, before I clap my hands and switch places with him, but right before he can react and throw his axe at me, Wonder Woman tackles him, slamming him into the ground, before getting him in a chokehold.

He then tries to stand up, but before he can, I take my sword, and thrust it at him. Even though I fail to penetrate his armour, the blow deals enough force to knock him into the ground as Wonder Woman continues to choke him out.

Just before he is about to pass out, he makes one last ditch attempt to break free, using his axe as leverage to slam into the ground with enough force to make Wonder Woman release him.

Unfortunately for us, it works and he just barely escapes her clutches and retreat to create some distance between us as he catches his breath, while Wonder Woman also stands up, visibly winded by the blow.

He then speaks up "It seems I have been careless. Very well mortals, I will now be taking you seriously."

After saying this, he in a very cliche manner, if I might add, takes off his armbands which are heavy enough to cause cracks on the floor.

He then, once again proceeds to recall his axe. But this time when it reaches his hands, it begins to crackle with a sinister purple lightning.

As I see this, I can only think up two words.

"Fuck you."

A/N: Sorry for not releasing a chapter yesterday, my house's wiring decided to spontaneously combust due to which I had no internet the entire day. I'll make it up in the future with an extra long chapter.
