Arnold POV]
I approached a run down apartment in the Suburbs of Metropolis. It was in a run down neighbourhood, where I could even see a couple of drug addicts lying on the streets.
I walked close to a door on the ground floor, and tried to open it. The door was locked.
'Well that was expected. We'll do this the hard way.' I thought to myself.
I reinforced my arm with cursed energy and pushed the door, causing it to swing open. I then walked into the room with «limitless» activated.
The insides were a one bedroom apartment with a kitchen and living room. As I looked around the kitchen I noticed a very odd detail. There were no groceries in the kitchen. The wardrobe in the bedroom was completely empty. The bathroom had no toilet paper. Actually there weren't really any signs of life in the entire apartment. The couch still had a plastic cover on it. I mean, what sort of psychopath leaves the covers on the couch!? Wait, I'm getting distracted. Anyways, I look around the house for any secret passage or hidden room, but I find nothing.
'Huh, that's odd.' I think to myself. This place was completely deserted. This meant that this wasn't the final location where I would be ultimately taken, but just a place meant to cover up any trail left behind. Who in their right mind, would be paranoid enough to hire mercenaries to take me here and then move me to another location entirely. More importantly, who would have that sort of money?
As I was thinking this, a knife stopped mere inches away from my throat. I leisurely turned around, only to find a man dressed in all black spandex, with a pair of round, circular goggles for his eyes to be able to see clearly. He was holding a dagger in his right hand and had a vial of fluid in his left hand. He attempted to splash the contents of said vial on my face, but the fluid was simply left suspended in the air, mere inches away from my face. The liquid eventually fell onto the ground, where it began to quickly corrode the carpet with which it came into contact. I thought 'A talon? Ah, that explains a lot.'
So it was those over privileged weirdos that were behind this. This entire stunt was probably supposed to be an invitation or initiation or some other bullshit like that. Too bad these fuckers didn't know what they were dealing with. It seems that a lot of money is about to be donated to "charities" and "nonprofits" soon.
"So, who are you?" I asked the talon, acting like I didn't know anything about this guy. I didn't want them to know I knew about their existence just yet. They probably have this entire place bugged.
He didn't reply, only turning around and attempting to run, but before he could get even a metre away from me, used «limitless» to twist his neck, ripping it out.
I then decided on my next course of action. I thought 'This guy probably isn't alone. I should go out and get some high ground, look for his companions and see where they're headed.'
Thinking this, I teleported out of the room. In an instant, I was floating in the sky and looking at the area below me. I took off my blindfold and revealed the «Six eyes». The moment I did, a large amount of information flooded my brain, as my vision got a lot more profound. Within an instant, I found two more talons who were in the same room as the one I had just killed.
The two proceed to take some container out of a hidden compartment in the floor, before pouring it on the corpse of their colleague as well as the entire house. They then proceed to cut open some wiring and lay it across the floor. The two then exit the house, press a hidden button on a fire hydrant near the apartment, before the entire apartment sparks up, as an electrical fire starts to engulf the building.
The two men quickly approach a blue sedan, before driving away from the scene. I follow them discreetly, making sure to stay hidden. I decide 'Let's make sure that they don't find me.'
I then set up a veil with a few conditions. I make it transparent from the inside and seem imperceptible from the outside. In return, it allows everything to pass through it both ways. I also make it mobile, being able to move it with just a thought. In exchange for this, I make it so that the veil is very small, only covering me inside it. And just like that, I've made a makeshift invisibility cloak.
I then stealthily follow the talons for two hours until they arrive at a building in Metropolis Harbour. Those two exit their car and enter an empty warehouse. I quietly fly close to the warehouse, with the veil still around me. I think to myself 'This next part is gonna be a bit risky.'
I teleport inside, and luckily, the veil teleports alongside me. I was worried that the veil wouldn't be teleported, leaving me completely visible to the talons. Luckily, it seems that I was worried about nothing. While inside, I saw the two talons I had followed here open a grate that was hidden inside a shipping container and climb in. I follow the two and proceed to enter the grate.
