Cyborg

It was midnight. Silas Stone is still sitting next to the metallic cocoon in which his son is suspended. 'I can't tell her. I can't muster up the courage.' He thinks as he looks at his son's prison. 'It's all my fault.' he thinks as he breaks down again. Silas still hasn't told his wife about their son's fate. Everytime he picks up his phone to call her, a haunting feeling of guilt, regret and fear runs through him, forcing him to put it back down.

This process continues throughout the night and at dawn, a miracle happens. Silas suddenly looks at the cocoon, as a grating noise coming from it grabs his attention. He looks on, as a hand suddenly rips out of the outer metal coating, before proceeding to wedge the entire thing open. After this, a tall 6ft 5in, half machine half human crawls out.

"Victor, you're safe!" Silas cries out, and he rushes to hug his son. "I'm so sorry, it was all my fault. Thank God you're okay." says as he embraces his child. He doesn't care that his son looks different, that he has hinges for knees, or that one of his eyes are purely cybernetic. To him all that matters is that he can be with his son once more.

"I'm okay Dad. It's all right. I should have been more careful. The fault isn't yours alone." Victor says while consoling his father.

"We must check to see if there's anything wrong with your body… Oh god Victor, your mother is going to kill me." Silas speaks to his son. He is very worried about his son's new appearance. He is sure that Victor will find a place in society, as god's and aliens are known to coexist with humans in this world, but as a father he can't help but worry.

"I'd love to dad, but right now I really have to go. It's something very important that the superheroes must come to know about." Victor tells his father before quickly rushing out of the lab.

Victor reached an open area and stood still, muttering to himself "Okay time to see if this works. It should… hopefully."

He then thinks in his mind 'Activate boosters' and soon two structures eject from his back. The structures along with the soles of his feet suddenly begin to output a lot of thrust, launching him into the air.

[Cyborg POV]

It worked! I mean it was supposed to but still, how amazing was that. I really was flying, although not as fast as I'd have liked. I needed to reach somewhere and quickly. I zoomed my way through the Metropolis Skyline rushing past the birds that flew through the skies. 'This is so much fun. I can't believe that Superman could always enjoy this feeling. It's totally different from flying on a plane.'

But I quickly remembered my original goal as I calmed myself. 'This isn't why I'm here. I must get to the Hall of Justice. I need to talk to the justice league, to warn them about the threat. There isn't much time. The invasion is to begin today.' I thought as I made my way through metropolis.

Unfortunately, the Hall of Justice was all the way on the other side of town and couldn't fly at full speeds because I was still getting used to my new abilities. Reaching the Hall of Justice would take me a full hour. As I made my way to the Hall of Justice I saw a fire break out.

'I can't just leave them here' I thought and quickly flew in to help. I moved quickly moving closer to the fire.

I asked the supercomputer in my head, 'How many people are still trapped in there?' The computer started its analysis and within 10 seconds provided me with an answer. «3 civilians detected.»

I waited no further and crashed straight into the building. There lay two of the trapped people, both unconscious. I acted quickly grabbing them both before carrying them out of the building. I headed back inside and found the final person, a teenager about my age trying to stay away from the fire. I call out to her "Hey, I'm here to help, just stay where you are."

It does not have the intended effect as the girl suddenly screams out, "Aah! It's a monster! Someone help!"

I call out to the girl "Listen to me, I'm not a monster. My name is Vi- My name is Cyborg and I'm trying to help you."

The girl seems to calm down a bit, and I slowly make my way towards her, all the while talking to her "Hey it'll be fine… You'll be safe. Just let me get to you."

Slowly but surely I reach her, and carry her through the fire, back outside to safety. I drop her outside and head to my destination at full speeds. Luckily, I reached the Hall of Justice without any further distractions. When I'm outside the building I see a large crowd gathered outside. I came to the realisation that I won't be getting into the building through the front door. "Well, I guess we're doing this the hard way."

«Warning. Building is highly fortified and full of high threat individuals. Chances of death upon entry are 90%»

"Its not like the superheroes will kill me, right?" I say to myself as attempt to do something crazy. I just fly through the roof, probably activating every defence mechanism in the building. But it mattered not, as upon landing I immediately ran into the man who I needed to talk to the most. I immediately scream out with great vigour and urgency,"Superman, you have to help me, the earth is in danger!"
