Pain

I wander endlessly into the dark. I stumble and barely catch my fall. I crash back into the light. If only I could've found him. If only I said sorry. If only I had the chance to say goodbye...

I open my eyes to the realization that the dark was only an illusion. Just a dream. I was in a wooden chair by a small closed window. I leaned closer to the windowsill. I stared out at the sky. If only I could escape into the clouds...

"Are you okay?"

"Yeah." I say and close my eyes once more.
