They Don't Know Me
Entering the office with Ava was not in my plans and neither is walking to the lift together.
Like a queen bee in high school, I feel like Ava is here to protect me from the vultures and in her eyes, she sees that I need saving. However, what she doesn't know is, that I am okay by myself. I can do it, I can walk myself into the elevator.
I can walk past my employees forgetting about the articles I read yesterday.
Waving at the guy walking past us, as we head to the private lift to my office, I smile broadly at him and reply that I am okay when he asks me how is my morning.
Ava's eyes follow him as he walks away, and then she looks at me as if trying to figure out if my smile is genuine or not. "It is," I tell her and click on the lift before she does it for me. It is like she is taking my word seriously when I asked her if she wanted to be my PA.
"How did you know what I am asking?" She asks when we are inside the elevator.
