Strangers (ii)
My mother smiles at me, and states proudly, "go get 'em, mama." My father nods grinning crazily.
"Oh, my God, mom." I turn around and when the lady doesn't move, I look at her, she looks at the way I am holding her hand and I remove my hand from her quickly. Shyly, I stand there waiting for her to start walking to leave so I can follow her.
Yes, I am the one who asked her if we could talk, but I don't know my way through this hotel and I am sure she does, so I have to wait for her.
My parent is staring at us, I can't see my mother's eyes though she is beaming crazily. She waves at me bye. I roll my eyes and turn at the waitress, she is staring at me too. Is this going to turn into a staring competition because if that, then she is gonna win?
Any other day I would be sure that I will but not today, I look away immediately and at the front.
