Not Me, Please
"Girl?" I mouth at my mother. She nods her head and I don't why I smile but I find myself smiling at the sight of my mother smiling over something like me asking her, 'girl?'
She writes down furiously and hands me the note. I read and the note is asking me something my mother has not asked me in a very long time, all I want is to ask her to focus on dad who is still talking, now after reading the note the psyche I had to listen to my father went down the drain.
I think my mother has seen the change in my face and when she tries to take the paper from her I shake my head, we are in a crowd so it is not like she is going to fight me over a small piece of paper.
I look at my dad and I find him staring at us, I want to stand and scream at him how it was not a good idea to come along with mum.
My mother touches my hand and I assume her completely. She stops when she sees I am not going to give her my attention.
