Porchay had his change of clothes delivered to Macau's room. He knew it was the one place Tankhun would not go looking for him and he just wanted to be around his new boyfriend a while longer until it was time to leave.
Porsche and Pete had teased the boys when they returned to the hotel only stopping after Chay scolded them both for acting like teenage girls before dragging Macau up to his room. Chay was standing on the balcony staring at the sky which was now splashed shades of pink, blue and orange. Macau had disappeared into the bathroom after Pete sent him a text saying that they would be going out for dinner and he had to look decent.
The last time Porchay got butterflies in his stomach like this he ended up crying outside Kim's apartment building about a month or so later but he didn't want to think like that. He convinced himself that he had the bad kind of butterflies. The kind that make you want to throw up because his brother had thought it a good idea to take him along to his meeting with the freaking YAKUZA. Chay had gotten himself so worked up that he didn't hear Macau walk out of the bathroom until the boy sniffed his cheek, "Oi! What did you do that for?" Chay protested.
Macau chuckled walking back into the room clipping his watch instead of buttoning his shirt like a normal person would, "I've wanted to do that for a while and you seemed distracted," he winked at the other boy whose cheeks were now more pink than they had been a minute before, "What are you thinking about?"
"Nothing," Chay sighed and walked into the room closing the door to the balcony before leaning against it, "It's just...do you think hia realises that this is extremely terrifying for me?"
Macau raised an eyebrow, "All of this I mean. I had a perfectly normal life until last year and suddenly I have to deal with this. I get it, this is someone's life story and all that but not mine. I just wish things could go back to how they were before all of this."
"Are you nervous?" Macau asked earning himself a death glare.
"Nervous is not the word for it. More like petrified with fear."
"A word of advice. Avoid Hanzo Yagami, he's Kurosawa's right hand. He's worse than his boss, a lot worse so steer clear of him and all trouble," Macau said in a low voice walking towards Chay who just stared at him doe eyes and all, "And whatever you do, make sure you have more than one of your people with you at all times when you're out of Porsche's sight. Okay?"
Chay nodded slowly as Macau took his hand giving it a light squeeze before stepping away from Chay. A few seconds later there was a knock on the door, "Please get that for me," Macau said finally buttoning up his shirt.
Porsche stood in the doorway looking at Macau who was smirking at him while slowly buttoning his shirt, "Playtime's over kids, we have you get going."
"I'll see you later," Chay said picking up his phone from the couch in Macau's room before walking up to the boy and giving him a quick peck on the lips.
He walked out of the room leaving his brother to glare at Macau for a while longer while the boy just grinned back like an idiot. Porsche rolled his eyes grumbling about how much he didn't like Macau before slamming the door shut and following after Chay who had walked away with his detail and the Kurosawa girl.
*~*~*~*~*~
Porsche and Porchay rode in the same car with two of their bodyguards while the rest of their detail and Tankhun followed in separate cars. The group arrived at a residence littered with multiple buildings built in the traditional Japanese style. The group was welcomed by no less than twenty men dressed very casually compared to the formal crisp attire of Porsche and everyone with him. The atmosphere however felt anything but casual. Tankhun climbed out of his car in a very calm manner that shook Chay because it was nothing like his usual crazy self. He was even dressed in solely black and had an intimidating air to him. Guess even the crazies need to be sane in certain situations, Chay thought to himself as Tankhun took his place next to Porsche.
Mina whispered something to one of the men standing closest to where they stood before the man walked into the biggest building, "My brother was not expecting us for a while longer please excuse us," she said to Porsche.
"This kind of behaviour will not be tolerated little Kurosawa. It just makes you lot look bad," Tankhun spoke low with the most bone-chilling smile on his face, "Don't you think?"
Mina bowed his head and apologised before making to walk away to find her brother, "Please do forgive my tardiness," a man dressed in traditional kimono said as he walked out of the building followed by two small girls also in traditional Japanese dress, "I trust your stay so far has been pleasant."
"No less," Tankhun crooned glaring at the man, Kurosawa from across the courtyard.
"Please, come in," Kurosawa made a gesture for the group to enter into his home.
They were led through a few dimly lit hallways before they entered a big room decorated in old Japanese style to match the rest of the structure. They all sat around a low oak table on sitting mats before tea was served. The grown-ups began exchanging pleasantries while Chay sat zoning out daydreaming about how he'd rather be with Macau doing literally nothing than in a room full of people talking about shady deals and probably trying to pull one up on each other.
It wasn't until dinner had been served that the empty seat next to Kurosawa was taken up. It was a face Chay hoped never to see again yet there he was, the man from the gelato bar. He would have been a picture of beauty were it not for his eyes. If anything he would have even fit the profile for Chay's ideal type; buzzed hair, a strong jaw, tall, slightly tanned...but his eyes just scared Chay. The man took in the people at the table, one pale small boy who looked scared half to death dressed in black, an older man with a mischievous look in his eyes and another one who looked bored out of his mind. The man smirked ever so slightly before acknowledging the guests, "Forgive my late arrival. I had some other business to attend to." his eyes lingered on Chay a second too long causing the boy to squirm where he sat.
The boy turned to Mina who was sitting next to him and asked to be excused before shooting to his feet and leaving without drawing much of the grown-ups' attention. He didn't know where he was going but a bathroom would be a useful escape room for a moment. He walked through the hallways a while longer with two bodyguards tailing him before he came across a woman dressed in kimono like the two who followed Kurosawa just in a different colour. She led him to the restroom before disappearing into a dimly lit hallway.
Chay looked at his phone to find that it was barely 8 pm yet he was more than ready to leave. He didn't like being around Kurosawa because he reminded him so much of someone. Chay just couldn't put his finger on it. He thought of texting Macau but almost immediately decided against it and settled on washing his face and just staying in the bathroom a while longer. By the time he returned to the room where everyone was, the table had been cleared and Porsche and Tankhun were nowhere in sight. One of Chay's bodyguards made a phone call and a minute later Mina was at the door.
She led them to a room down the hall where Kurosawa, Porsche and Tankhun were sitting away from Yagami and the rest of the group. Chay happened to find himself next to Yagami who was quiet for a while. They simply watched as the heads spoke for a while, "Where's your friend?" Yagami asked causing Chay to jump at his voice.
"What?"
"The boy you were with earlier? Someone was really looking forward to seeing him," the man replied looking down at Chay.
"I don't know," Chay replied glaring.
"Hmm." Yagami sat thinking for a moment before getting up from his spot next to Chay and walked out of the room.
"Why are all these mafia people so freaking weird?" Chay grumbled under his breath as he looked at the door.
