[Bonus chapter]58th Break: Scumbag

Lin residence.

"You said what?!" Lin Yao exclaimed in shock when he heard what Lin Ze said and sprayed his drink, which Lin Ze dodged. "You... you apologized to Meng Ruyan. And this Meng Ruyan is actually - ?!" he said as he looked at his cousin with his eyes wide in both shock and disbelief. "A first-class beauty..." he muttered in a daze.

He trusts his cousin since they have the same aesthetics. So, if Lin Ze said that Meng Ruyan is a very beautiful person, then Meng Ruyan's beauty could launch a thousand ships. His beauty is without a flaw!

"Then, cousin, you..." Lin Yao cautiously looked at Lin Ze's expression.

Lin Ze wryly smiled. "A regretful dog." He answered and drank his drink in one gulp.

Lin Yao grimaced and felt pity for his cousin. After all, the meat is already in front of him and all Lin Ze has to do is to swallow it. But, Lin Ze didn't, and so the meat was lost. In short, Lin Ze has a problem with his brain. This, Lin Yao now can be sure of! Or else, who in their right mind would refuse Meng Ruyan's beauty? It was already in his name* ('ruyan' means 'nice to look at' or 'pleasing to the eyes'). In fact, Meng Ruyan's name is too humble already.

"Cousin, you really are..." Lin Yao sighed and shook his head. He doesn't know how to evaluate this cousin of his. Stupid? Idiot? A fool? He thought as he sighed again. But, just as his sigh was halfway, he choked when he suddenly recalled something. Or, someone. "Hey, cousin. Didn't you already have Meng Xing?" he asked as he looked at Lin Ze.

Lin Ze paused, then looked at Lin Yao. "What made you think like that?" he spoke.

"Isn't that the way it is?" Lin Yao asked back. "You looked protective of Meng Xing before when I met him, so I gave up on him, thinking that you were interested in him." He explained. "Weren't you?" he asked.

Lin Ze fell silent. In fact, he really was interested in Meng Xing. That is his mysteriousness. But, later, as he interacted with the other, he then became interested in the other's curious personality. Meng Xing can be smart when he is smart, and at the same time, he can be innocent when he is innocent. Lin Ze liked the other's contrasting personality, so he invested more time in Meng Xing.

Meng Xing, who looked similar to Meng Ruyan – who has the exact personality of Meng Xing. And the both of them made him greatly shaken the first time he met them. Yet these two are different people, which made Lin Ze feel complicated. As Qiu Yi said, one was his ex-fiancé while the other was his new flame –

Pei* (spitting interjection)! Lin Ze's face turned gloomy and he poured wine on his cup again before he drank it in one gulp.

"Hey!" Lin Yao exclaimed when he saw that Lin Ze's expression was gloomy.

Earlier, he found Lin Ze wandering blankly on the streets. He rarely sees his cousin like this so he took him with him to have a drink. He thought that it would just be a small problem at work. But, he should have known better. The problem seems to be big, and it is not about work at all! It is actually a love problem! Lin Ze, whom he suspected was interested in Meng Xing, was actually greatly shaken by Meng Ruyan when he met his ex-fiance!

What a bad luck! Lin Ze almost married Meng Ruyan, but their engagement just had to be broken when it was almost there! It was only a week! Yet... ai* (a sighing interjection)! Too bad! Really too bad! Based on Lin Ze's heavy expression, Meng Ruyan seemed to have a bad attitude towards him. Well, who wouldn't when your fiance left you dry for five years of waiting and when he finally returned, he broke up (engagement) with you!

What is worse is that Lin Ze has a new flame (MX: please! *rolls eyes) whom he found just not long after he broke up (engagement!) with the (now ex-) fiance! What is worse is that Lin Ze now feels entangled between the two! Yes, you think of it as it is. Lin Ze is a scumbag!

If Qiu Yi is here, he would definitely fight Lin Ze even if Qiu Yi is weaker than Lin Ze. Who told Lin Ze to dream while still awake?! He will never get either of the two (well since one is already dead)!

"That, cousin..." Lin Yao coughed when he thought of his cousin as a scumbag (which he (LZ) really is). "This Meng Ruyan... is he more beautiful than Meng Xing?" he asked.

After Lin Yao met Meng Xing, even if it was just half of the other's face that he saw, Lin Yao had already made Meng Xing his standard for beauty. To which Lin Yao knows that Lin Ze must have done, too. Thus, Lin Yao's number of women, as well as men, has decreased. But, their quality definitely increased! It is the quality that matters!

As soon as Lin Ze heard Lin Yao's question, his mood turned even worse, which made the hair on Lin Yao's nape stand up.

"H – hey! Calm down, cousin! Calm down!" Lin Yao panicked after Lin Ze downed a bottle. Even if Lin Ze has a high level of alcohol tolerance, Lin Ze has drunk too much! His stomach would be unwell. And if Lin Ze's father knew this, he would scold him!

Lin Yao doesn't know whether to laugh or cry. But, he knows that he has to take Lin Ze away now! Or else, he will be the one who Lin An and Lin Hao would take, out of their house to make Lin Ze drink, and even just the noon of the day!

Just what was he thinking?! Lin Yao thought and slapped his forehead while he helped Lin Ze stand up. "Was my question that bad earlier?" he asked, referring to his question to Lin Ze about whether Meng Ruyan is more beautiful than Meng Xing or not.

Lin Ze hiccupped and seemed to hear Lin Yao speaking next to his ears. "Bad... bad boy..." he muttered and closed his eyes.
