Branwen

Lawrence Flyn was many things. Served in the army during WW2, he took place in many battles. He wasn't particularly strong or even incredibly skilled with guns. For the longest time he didn't know why he lived, when so many friends of his died. At the Omaha Beach, he saw so many of his fellow soldiers cut down by enemy fire and explosions. During his time out of the army, many of his fellow soldiers had died from their debilitating injuries. He found out though. He survived, not due to his skills or strength, but because of his unstoppable will and madness. He hadn't cared for his life since he was a young boy. Father leaving him with a sick Mother. He took any job a child could do but in the end, his Mother still died. Trying to move on with his life, he fell in love eventually. But she too was killed during their trip to Hawaii when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. He joined the army, not out of patriotism, but hate. His spite for the world grew like a fire from that day on. Hoping for himself to die in the war, he never got his wish. The years went on but still, his spite never left him. It wasn't until the year 2010 at the tender age of 95 that he finally saw his foolishness. All that bitterness and hate he carried made him miserable. Life was unfair, but one should never give up on the smallest chance to be happy. In his retirement home he began to make friends with the other residents. Finding hobbies and talking with them. Eventually, he got into anime. It was introduced by one of his friend's Grandsons when he visited. He used the time he had left to indulge in the shows made by the Country he loathed until just recently. He spent the rest of his days comfortably, waiting to be reunited with his Lover once again when he finally passed on in 2018. That was what Raven Branwen remembered right after killing the Maiden to acquire her powers. She fell to her knees and shivered with tears in her magically blazing eyes. "Wh..What have I.. done..?"

Wandering Knight

Raven had spent the next few days staying inside the Rose/XiaoLong house. While Qrow and her were there, Summer and Tai could have their date nights. During the days, Raven would go into drill sargeant mode and train Yang until she couldn't move. They'd run for thirty minutes, rest, do exercises, run for another thirty minutes, rest and finish up by teaching Yang how to throw a punch.

Currently, Raven was training Yang in hand to hand when she saw Yang panting as sweat poured down her face. Yang suddenly stopped and hunched over, panting hard.

"Well it seems this is a good place to stop. Oh and you should tie up your hair in a ponytail whenever you train. That way your hair won't get messy and in your face" Raven handed her a water and sat on a rock with her.

"Mom..? Um.. can I learn how to swing a sword?" Yang asked with pleading eyes.

"A sword? I thought you wanted to use your fists like your Dad?" Raven sipped her own water.

"Yeah and that's good for when I don't have a weapon, like you said but.. I wanna be like you! The way you swing like 'woosh' and 'shwing!' is cool!" Yang proclaimed and nearly made Raven spit up her water.

"You.. want to be like me?" Raven gave her a surprised face.

"Yeah! You have super pretty long hair and you fight Grimms like 'kapow!' and you're cool!" Yang earnestly complimented her as best she could.

Raven smiled and pulled her into an affectionate hug.

"You're far too cute, you know that?" Raven rested Yang's head on her bosom until she heard Summer yell.

"RAE!!! I completed it!! Muahahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!" She heard Summer from her outside forge which was nearby.

"Let's go see what your Cookie Mom's made" Raven got up with Yang and walked over while Yang's legs wobbled from the exercises.

Before Yang could fall though, Raven scooped her up in her arms and rubbed her head with a smile.

"Thanks Horny Mom!" Yang said with a smile and touched Raven's horn.

"Let's.. not go with that name, Little Dragon.. I er.. it doesn't suit me.." Raven coughed as Yang thought of another name to call her.

As they walked into the forge, they saw Summer polishing an impressive Black Knight suit that covered the whole body with ample room in the chestplate. There was also a plated waist cloth that reminded Raven of the armor that Altria Pendragon wore. Though the armor wasn't as bulky and looked more form fitting.

"Wow.. that's a hell of a disguise, Summer" Raven gave her an impressed nod.

"Oh but that's not all.." She pointed at the right shoulder plate where there were a few clips for what seemed like hair.

"Confused I see! This is to hold that majestic black mane of yours AND.. drum roll please?" She looked at Yang, who nodded with a smile and made a drumroll sound with her mouth, though it sounded more like a motorcycle.

"It'll be.. your CAPE! It drapes your hair over your shoulder like a mysterious black cape!" Summer looked proud.

Yang gasped and looked it over in wonder before feeling the length and density of Raven's hair. She knew she liked long hair for a reason!

"Try it on! Try it on!" Yang urged her but Summer stepped in.

"No way! You'll stink up my baby with your sweat! Shower first, then you can try.." Summer pointed back at the house.

"That's a good idea. Come on, Little Dragon, I'll deal with those long locks of yours" Raven carried Yang inside.

"Yay! When Cookie Mom does it she threatens to cut my hair short.." Yang uttered in indignation.

"Hey! Short hair is cute!" Summer replied with her usual enthusiasm.

After that day, Raven began to travel Remnant in her disguise, which garnered a lot of attention, seeing as how most Huntsmen and Huntresses don't don armor due to aura. She spent weeks going around Remnant in the more lesser known areas such as settlements and helped with their bandit and Grimm issues. If the bandits were truly irredeemable she would kill them quickly to ensure they didn't get away and hurt more people.

Eventually she moved on to bigger settlements and decided to try her luck in a Kingdom's capital city.

One day, after training Yang and watching Ruby with Qrow, she walked into Vale during a Faunus protest. The White Fang were a group of peaceful protesters that were advocating for Faunus rights. It was going well so far, until Raven saw a more uneasy and nervous police officer reach for his gun when a particularly angry Faunus was screaming at his face.

Before it turned into a bloodbath and a PR nightmare, Raven batted his gun away from him, which focused the Vale Police Department on her.

"What do you think you're doing!? You're obstructing an Officer of the law" One of the cops walked right up to her, none of the Faunus knew what was going on but the now frightened and previously screaming man.

"Preventing this one from making a mistake. Don't try anything.." Raven whispered the last part to the Officer she disarmed.

He calmed down and nodded gratefully and shook his head at the other officers to stop them. Some of the Faunus talked to themselves and spoke in hushed tones.

"Hey isn't that armor..? Is that the Black Knight? My cousin, who lives in Fresca down South told me about him.. I didn't believe it until now" One Deer Faunus spoke to his friend.

The conversations about her increased as she stood watch over the protest to ensure it wouldn't turn into a riot, which would ultimately hurt the Faunus more. She noticed some of them looking at her and speaking in hushed tones but opted to ignore it.

"I think the Knight's a girl. Look! Her hair's her cape" One Tiger Faunus pointed out.

"Who cares what gender they are? They've been watching out for the White Fang and Faunus for weeks now. I think High Leader Ghira wants to know about her" A Bird Faunus nudged the Tiger Faunus' arm.

They discussed who should go talk to her but they saw a black haired cat faunus child run up to the front with an anti-racism sign at the Black Knight. She started tugging on her plated waist-cloth and got her attention.

"Um.. M..Miss? Sorry.. Mister..? Um.." She fidgeted nervously and flinched when she saw the Black Knight reach out for her.

Raven pat her head fondly. The child was cute and she had a feeling she knew who she was. Blake Belladonna. The child of Ghira and Kali, the leaders of the White Fang and her old classmates at Beacon.

"Hello little one, what's wrong?" Raven tried to sound as gentle as she could, which worked because Blake's eyes shone in awe and hugged her leg.

"I um.. My Mom and Dad wanna talk to you.. they're with me in Vale! They um.. in a hotel?" Blake tried her best to formulate her words as neatly as she could.

"I see.. so where is this hotel?" Raven noticed Blake fidget more.

"I.. I don't.. remember..? I went to the protest but.." She seemed dejected as she admitted the fact she was lost.

Raven picked her up like she had her daughter and cheered her up with a soft headpat. She knew she was getting better at headpatting because Cinder was essentially her guinea pig every time she visited Salem's Castle. She often gave her some advice and carried candy for her when she visited. Cinder was also being trained by Raven, who opted to train her far more leniently than Salem would have. Apparently this made her popular with Cinder, since Cinder would often ask Salem when Raven would come. Though it did improve Salem's mood every time she asked.

She shook her head of those thoughts and looked back at the small cat Faunus in her arms that she was putting to sleep with her petting. She was even purring.

"Sorry about that. Can you tell me what the hotel's name was? How it looked?" Raven asked, snapping Blake out of the trance.

"Oh! Mn. Crescent Hotel and.. um.. it had a neon glowy sign?" Blake described as Raven nodded.

"Okay then let me ask for directions and I'll bring you back to your parents. But don't talk to strangers next time, okay?" Raven warned and Blake giggled.

"You aren't a stranger! You're the Hero, Black Knight!" Blake assured her with her child logic.

"It's fine for me but nobody else, okay?" Raven took Blake and started to ask around for directions.

A half hour later, they finally arrived at the Crescent hotel, which was, not surprisingly, in the shape of a crescent. She took Blake in and had gotten the room of the Belladonnas. Thanking the employee at the front, Raven took Blake upstairs and right outside their hotel room. She was about to knock when she heard voices.

"See, this is why I don't scream during sex.. You're not decisive enough! You have the body, the intimidation.. use it, Ghira!" She heard Kali complain, which made her choke on her saliva.

"It's a delicate matter.. I can't- what was that?" She heard Ghira stop his sentence as Kali opened the door quickly, seeing Blake beside a fully armored woman, from what she could tell.

"Ah? Blake where have you been, little troublemaker? And who is this oddly familiar person you brought?" Kali smiled, though she could already discern who the guest was, she wanted Blake to feel special for bringing the knight.

"Oh! Mama, Papa this is the Black Knight you wanted to meet! I met her in a protest! She stopped the policeman from being mean" Blake excitedly told her Mom, who affectionately rubbed her daughter's head.

"Oh! Great job, Blake! You did so good, baby" Kali praised her daughter with a hug.

"Hmm? She's the Black Knight?" Ghira chimed in. Unlike Kali, he hadn't made the connection right away.

This was why he was the charismatic speaker and she was the brains behind the White Fang. Kali slowly rubbed her temples and sighed lightly.

"Please! Come in. I have to thank you for bringing Blake back. She likely got lost, right?" Kali pulled Raven in and accurately guessed her daughter's true reason for bringing Raven to them.

Blake looked embarassed and shuffled her feet across the floor.

"Oh.. no. She remembered. She just saw fit to bring me to you" Raven covered for her, which made Blake smile to herself.

Kali smiled and her eyes lit up in understanding.

"Oh I see! What a good little kitten I have" Kali wrapped Blake up in her arms and kissed her cheek.

"Please, take a seat Miss Knight. I'd like to thank you. Ghira, why don't you take Blake down to the lobby for lunch while I talk business with her?" Kali gave him a look and Ghira nodded, taking Blake in his arms.

"Come, Kitten. Let's go eat some of those delicious smoked salmon.." Ghira and Blake almost drooled when he spoke of their treasured food.

As soon as they walked out, it got quiet.

~Ah.. damn. She knows it's me. I suppose it's fine to reveal myself if it's Kali~ Raven sighed internally.

~Now how much would a bodyguard with her qualifications be worth? She's proven to not be prejudiced against human or faunus.. Ahh.. so rare these days~ Kali sighed and opened her mouth to speak but Raven took her helmet off and let her midnight black hair loose, revealing her face to Kali, who froze with her mouth open.

"RAVEN!?" Kali jumped up in shock.

"Tsss... Yeah I guess I misread that.. Ah well. How are you doing, Kali?" Raven set her helmet to the side.

Kali was still slack jawed and surprised. Though once that wore down she grew suspicious.

"How are you the Black Knight? You.. You became a Bandit Queen?" Kali spoke as venomously as she could though her thoughts betrayed her.

~A sexy bandit queen that takes charge..~ Kali thought with a poker face.

"You're right. But I left that behind. It was a mistake I'm currently working to fix. I've become some sort of wandering huntress you can say. I'm staying at Summer and Tai's house. They married after I.. you know" Raven explained as she leaned back on the sofa.

"So you're single.. handedly making a difference for faunus and humans? And wait.. where did that horn come from? Were you a faunus?" Kali asked with an interested gaze.

"No. Due to some unforseen circumstances I.. have a Grimm's horn. Helps me sense negative emotions.." Raven stopped herself there, seeing Kali knew there was something more to what she was saying.

Kali grabbed her shoulders and looked her in the face, her own expression morphing into one of happiness, affection and desire? Raven sensed a hint of lust from her.

"Raven, will you be mine?"
