You work for him?

Lijiang kingdom looked so desserted as everyone remained indoors, afraid of running into the beasts if they stepped out.

Queen Jiaying remained in her room staring out into the sky which looked so beautiful, but will also be the one to end her son two days time.

"Don't overthink, it's not good for your health right now."

Queen Jiaying startled at the sound of the familiar voice, she turned around to meet Chaoxiang sitting comfortably beside her bed, her eyes grew wider as she gazed at him.

"Ch... Chaoxiang!"

He chuckled. "You still remember, I'm glad."

She glared at him with anger fuming inside of her.

"Why are you here?"

"I'm here to share the good news." he smiled. "I've got your son in my palms Queen Jiaying."

Queen Jiaying froze on the bed, her son?!. Chaoxiang noticed her expression and chuckled.

"I didn't say it was good news for you."

"Where's my son?!" she got to her feet with rage building inside of her.

"How do you expect me to tell you with that attitude." he frowned at her, she balled her hands into fist.

"You better not hurt my son!"

"I won't only hurt him, I'll make him suffer slowly making him wish he was dead." he got to his feet as he stared at Queen Jiaying.

"For now?, I'm going to take over Lijiang kingdom."

He laughed meniacly and was out of sight, the Queen slumped to the floor hugging her knees. Her son.

Li Jie felt his body ached badly but still kept his eyes closed, he could hear the yokai and the earth beast talking.

"You fool, why did you have to injure him so bad?!" the earth beast growled.

"I enjoyed it actually but I guess I got carried away."

Chaoxiang showed up. "You two are fools and idiots, that's it." he said cutting them off guard.

"We can't get those powers unless he gets healed up."

"He'll heal up pretty soon." the yokai said, hopefully, knowing he actually inflicted serious injuries on Li Jie.

Li Jie's eyes flutter open, they gazed at him stunned to see him awake.

"What?!, he's awake?" the earth beast said in disbelief.

"How's he able to wake up so quickly?" the yokai asked also dumbfounded.

Li Jie groaned in pain, every part of his body ached and the injuries from those swords pinched him painfully.

Chaoxiang crouched to Li Jie's bed gazing at him.

"Hmn, for you to be awake already, it must mean you're healing, but this is too fast."

Li Jie couldn't see a thing, everything looked blur and he couldn't make out were he was.

"Where am I?" he asked through the terrible pain he was feeling.

Chaoxiang smiled. "Welcome to my dungeon, the underground realm."

Underground realm?, he's in the beasts kingdom.

Someone showed up, Li Jie tried to make out who it was but everything was a blur.

Chaoxiang's gaze darted at who just walked in.

"So glad you could join in."

Daiyu stared at Li Jie's injured body and felt her heart shatter in a split second, he's in so much pain, why isn't Chaoxiang doing a thing about it?.

"Shouldn't you get him treated?" she asked.

Li Jie frowned a bit, why did the voice sound so familiar. He forced himself to look up, he could make out Daiyu's clothes, was that Daiyu?!

"Daiyu?" he whispered, she felt her heart melt the minute he called her name, she wanted to run to him and tell him everything's going to be alright but balled her hands into fist to control her emotions.

"Surprised Li Jie?"

"You work for him?!" she could hear the disbelief in his voice and tried to shrug it off and tried to hide the pain in her voice by sounding cold.

"Yes, Chaoxiang is my master, I've been putting on an act for you guys this whole time."

Li Jie glared at her. "You what?!"

Daiyu tried to ignore the heartbreak of her own heart as she gazed at Chaoxiang.

"I've got some news." she said.

"Which is?"

"Mei jingjing has the second seal."

Li Jie's eyes widened at the mention of Mei jingjing having the second seal. Chaoxiang scoffed.

"It's with me, there's noway she could have gotten it." he searched his dress but to his surprise, he couldn't find it, he frowned.

"Where's the seal?"

"I told you, Mei jingjing has it, she somehow managed to get it from you when you had her trapped in your arms."

Li Jie couldn't help but smile, that wife of his is actually smart, if she's able to find the last seal on time, everything will turn out fine, in the meantime, he has to plan his escape from here.

Chaoxiang looked enraged. "That girl is really getting on my nerves now!"

Li Jie chuckled coldly gaining their attention, the beasts glared at him.

"Looks like you're starting to heal up really fast since you're laughing like that!, why don't you let me feed you more pain!!" the yokai wanted to go after him but Daiyu stopped him shooting him a glare.

"Don't even to think about it!"

"Why not?!"

Chaoxiang walked up to them. "She's right, if you hurt him it'll only delay us from getting the seals power on time."

That wasn't actually the reason for Daiyu stopping him, she just doesn't want to see him get hurt again.

The yokai stepped back, Li Jie glared at Daiyu, all this while Daiyu only pretended to be a part of them.

"Why did you do this?"

She remained quiet, she couldn't bear the anger he had for her, she walked out without answering him.

Chaoxiang folded his arms. "Daiyu was never a part of you, I made her work with you to get informations, too bad the rest of your people don't know a thing about it."

Li Jie hissed the pain out and tried to sit up.

How does he manage to stand up even after such injuries.

"She better not hurt my wife!"

Chaoxiang smiled. "Your wife, I only spared her for one reason, once you're gone, I'll make her mine."

Li Jie felt his anger surged through him. "You better leave my wife alone."

Chaoxiang giggled. "But you won't be living for long before you part from her, she'll need someone whom she can hold unto, she smells so nice as well, when I held her earlier, she felt so fragile and warm..."

Li Jie only got infuriated about his words, how dare he speak of his wife like that!!

"You're dead meat!" was the only word he said and with only his golden eyes, he held Chaoxiang's breath closing his windpipe making it difficult for him to breathe.

Chaoxiang couldn't believe it as he struggled to breathe but the earth beast and the yokai kicked Li Jie off the bed making him loose control and Chaoxiang was able to breathe properly again.

"I don't understand, how are you able to use your powers when you're still so weak." Chaoxiang couldn't understand the kind of power Li Jie possessed.

Li Jie spat out blood but had a cold smirk in his face, they couldn't understand him, how can he smile in such a painful situation as this, it got them scared a bit except for Chaoxiang who still studied him.

He slowly got to his feet and rested his back on the wall.

"You can talk about me all you want but do not bring my wife into this, else....." he intentionally didn't finish it.

Chaoxiang has never seen this side of him before.

"Let's leave." Chaoxiang's word was final and they all left leaving Li Jie locked up in the dark room.

Two huge fire beast guarded the door. Chaoxiang stepped out and was lost in thought.

"He never seems to amaze me."

Mei jingjing stared out into the moon as tears currently dropped from her eyes, she couldn't stop herself from worrying about him, it gave her such a heartache.

Chao Xua showed up sitting beside her.

"Are you alright princess?"

She still kept her gaze on the moon. "I'm such a useless protector." tears ran down from her eyes.

"You aren't, you're a great protector."

"No I'm not!, I let him take Li Jie away and I couldn't do anything to stop him."

Chao Xua sighed. "I'm not so worried cause I trust young master, I'm sure he's fine."

"No he's not, he must be in so much torture right now, they must be starving him to death right now."

She couldn't stop herself from crying, Daiyu was eavesdropping from behind the tree, she couldn't stop the tears from rolling down her eyes either as she slumped to the ground, she's seen master Li Jie and has seen the pain he's going through.

What if he really hasn't eaten?, she immediately cleaned her tears and got to her feet, if he really hasn't eaten, she has to get him something without Chaoxiang knowing about it.
