Finding peace

They gazed at leader Chang looking dazed.

"What was that all about?" weng Lie asked.

leader Chang hit his staff on the floor twice silencing him up.

"No respect for elders?" he said, Mei jingjing bowed politely.

"Greetings leader Chang."

He glanced at her while stroking his beard.

"I've been expecting all of you." he sounded calm.

"You knew we were coming?" Li Jie asked, he suddenly pointed his staff at Li Jie.

"You have a long way to go."

Daiyu bowed politely. "Greetings leader Chang, grandmother has told me alot about you, I'd be honoured if you could teach me about my powers."

He glanced at her and a small smile formed on his lips. "Not bad, you came prepared."

He glanced at weng Lie. "You have to learn some manners."

"Do you know who you're talking to?" weng Lie said with a lot of attitude.

Li Jie gazed at leader Chang "Allow me to do the honours."

He snapped his fingers sealing weng Lie's lips.

"Mother isn't here to save you now is she?" he mocked, weng Lie kept quiet not wanting to make situations worse for himself.

They all sat on the carpet floor at the lounge of leader Chang's home, it looked simple and everything was neatly arranged.

A maid served all of them a cup of tea and left.

"Why were you expecting us?" Li Jie asked.

"Why shouldn't I, weren't you coming here in the first place?"

Mei jingjing smiled at leader Chang. "Thank you for the lovely tea, but you are right, we did come here to see you."

"State your reasons."

"We want to know more about the three seals." Li Jie said.

"For what reasons exactly."

weng Lie frowned. "If you knew we were coming shouldn't you know the reasons behind it?"

"He was gifted by the three seals and now the beast's are after him." Mei jingjing said finding weng Lie's question unrelatable.

"I was gifted by the fire seal." Daiyu added.

"You have a lot to learn Li Jie and there isn't much time left." he sighed.

"I warned your father about this but he wouldn't listen to me."

"If I don't get the three seals on time, I'll be struck dead by lightning." Li Jie added.

"That is if the seal beasts don't kill you before then."

"What do we do?" Mei jingjing asked. "We've come to you for help, please help us find a way out of this."

Leader Chang glanced her way. "You're his protector am I right?"

Mei jingjing nodded.

"She's also his wife." Chao Xua added, they all glanced at him and he kept quiet, Haorang sighed hopelessly.

"Why did you even come here?" he poked Chao Xua on his temples which he rubbed with a sad look.

"You all must be tired, how about you get some rest and we'll talk about everything tomorrow." he rose to his feet and walked out without waiting for an answer.

"He's such a strange old man." Daiyu said, they all nodded in agreement.

They were taken to their rooms and new clothes were handed to them as well. Mei jingjing stared at the purple long dress which was handed to her.

"Wow, this is lovely." her eyes stared at the dress in amazement.

Li Jie stepped out of the bathroom, water dripping from his magnificent body, Mei jingjing gaped at the sight of him, he only had a towel tied around his waist, his long wet hair sparkled as the moonlight from the window reflected on it.

He stood tall with an imposing manner, his wounds were completely healed, the broad shoulders, powerful arms, smooth hard chest, flat tummy and the amazing abbs, Mei jingjing had to close her mouth herself. water dripped from his body making his skin glow, his golden eyes made her feel like she was staring into the sun.

He noticed her staring and smirked. "Like what you see?"

His voice startled Mei jingjing, she looked around for where to fix her gaze on, not wanting to stare at his body, she turned around instead.

"Have you no shame?,put some clothes on!." she said in vexation as her cheeks flushed pink.

Her expression right now made him want to tease her even more, he walked up to her standing right behind her and whispered in her ear.

"Why should I, you're my wife after all." she tensed up after feeling his breath on her ear. She turned around to look at him but ended up running into his chest accidentally placing her hands on them.

Her eyes grew wider as she stared at his chest, then slowly moving upward to meet Li Jie's angelic face, she lost her breath immediately as her cheeks were slowly turning red to her ear.

Li Jie was enjoying how flustered she got, she wanted to move away but he wrapped his hands around her waist pulling her close, she gasped.

"S..... s... stop this Li Jie, I know you're trying to mess with me." she tried to free herself but he wouldn't let go.

"I'm warning you Li Jie, don't you try to pull a stunt on me now."

He pulled her even closer closing the gap between them.

"You were saying?" he looked so seductive and dangerous the same time. Mei jingjing's heart raced so fast it felt like it'd jump out of her mouth any seconds.

This sudden feeling made her push him away making him trip but he held her hand and they both ended up falling on the bed, her lips landed straight on his.

Her eyes grew wider, she remained still trying to get herself back before pulling away from him looking into his eyes which also stared at her in surprise.

Mei jingjing realized she was still resting on his body and hurriedly got to her feet, she placed her hand on her lips as her racing heart refused to calm down.

She hurriedly grabbed her towel and ran into the bathroom without looking at him.

Li Jie was still stunned but a small smile formed on his pink lips, why does he act so strange around her, he tried to shrug it off and got to his feet and got dressed.

He stepped out of his room and walked along the hallway, he met leader Chang meditating at what looked like a dojo.

Li Jie walked in staring at him.

"Join me and stop staring like that." leader Chang said startling Li Jie.

Li Jie slowly sat beside him and crossed his leg so he could meditate as well, he took a deep breath and closed his eyes.

Mei jingjing stepped out of the bathroom, she peeped making sure he wasn't in the room before stepping in, she pat her chest to calm her racing heart.

"He's not here, but why's my heart still racing so much?" this racing thing was all new to her she couldn't understand it.

leader Chang handed Li Jie a cup of herb tea, Li Jie politely took it.

"How have you been through out your life?" leader Chang asked.

"I don't know, it's complicated." he replied having no idea how he's felt.

leader Chang chuckled. "You definitely haven't mastered your powers yet."

"After the damage I caused, I never wanted to test out my full powers."

"What can you do?"

"Well I'm great with water and I can control my forces."

"So you haven't mastered the Technics of both fire and earth?"

Li Jie kept quiet, leader Chang smiled. "Are you really prepared to die?"

"I don't care about that." he said firmly "saving my people is what I care about, my wife's safety included, I don't care if I die after that."

Leader Chang seemed amused. Li Jie couldn't help but ask

"But why did you leave Lijiang?"

leader Chang poured another cup of herb tea for himself.

"I had to leave, it's not like I'm doing anything there"

"Are you lieing to me?"

leader Chang chuckled lightly. "When someone is at the edge of loosing it all, what do you do?"

Li Jie was confused by his sudden question. "I don't understand."

"A man doesn't need to win in other to win, you can still win and end up loosing, sometimes you need to loose in other to know the value of winning."

Li Jie was so confused by his sudden words.

"Think about what I said and have a goodnight."

He rose to his feet..

"There's one more."

"What?"

"I can't sleep."

leader Chang glanced at him. "Sometimes you need to think about what brings peace to your heart before you can feel at peace, think about what gives you peace and close your eyes."

He walked out after those words, Li Jie got to his feet as well and headed straight to his room were he found his beautiful wife sleeping peacefully.

A sudden smile crossed his lips as he walked up to her, what a stubborn woman.

He laid beside her, this would be his first time sleeping on the same bed with her, he watched his movement making sure not to wake her up as he covered himself with the duvet.

He watched her sleepy face for a while and felt his heart warm up a little. He was starting to feel sleepy and before he knew it,his eyes closed and he was fast asleep.
