Chapter 16: Who Are You, Really?

Liam

I disliked mornings.

While rising before the sun had become a regular part of my day due to work and all of its obligations, I wanted nothing more than to luxuriate in bed until the afternoon.

But the habits that I had created ruled my life and now, whether I wanted to or not, my body woke me every morning at 4:30. There were moments where I caught myself resenting this, all of it, and today is seemingly one of those days.

I don’t bother wearing my normal attire, I can’t bring myself to slip into a suit, so I settle on a simple pair of black jeans and a dark red shirt from some designer my PR manager insisted I wear.

After making breakfast for the house and cleaning the kitchen, I sat on the couch with my iPad to hop on a video chat with Megan, my assistant.

“Good morning, Liam,” Megan said, flashing me a polite smile. I watched her take notice of my attire, but if she had an opinion about it (and I’m sure she did), she didn’t speak about it.
