Chapter 62

Grayson led his wife from his father’s office and down the hallway, headed toward his childhood bedroom. In one way, it seemed like ages ago when he last lived in the castle. But he suspected that, one day, he would return as king. But he hoped that day wasn’t soon, that it wasn’t today. He hated to have to leave his father in his office alone, but Xavier was with him and would protect him. Grayson hated that these castle walls, the walls that had always afforded his family protection, were now unsafe. Now, it was up to him to protect his family, all of them... including his wife, Ari. A moment later, he opened the door and let her go in first.

“I’ll have it redone to be more suitable for us,” Grayson said, closing the door behind them. It was a suite, but more suited to a bachelor than to a newly married couple.

“It’s fine.” Ari turned to face him. “I like it. It looks like you.”
