Chapter 45

“What does he like to read?”

“Right now, he’s working his way through the Redwall books for the second time. I don’t know what he plans to read next.”

“Those are wonderful stories,” she said. “Does he know that we’re going to be teaching him?”

“He and Mickey just got home a little while ago, and I haven’t had a chance to tell him. Mickey might have told him in the car, but I don’t know for sure. It will definitely be the number-one topic of conversation over dinner, though.”

“Maybe we should leave and come back later,” Parah said.

“Not at all. Why don’t I call Ted in here now, and we can talk about it while I’m getting our dinner ready?”

“That’s fine,” Sarah said.

Chris went to the backdoor and opened it long enough to say, “Ted, can you come in here for a minute?”

“Okay.”

Chris returned to the cooktop, and when he heard the door open, he turned and saw Ted standing there.

“Ted, did Mickey tell you what we’re planning to do about school for you?” Chris said.
