Caroline Edwin finished the soup in her bowl.
She picked up the stark white tofu with her chopsticks, shoveled rice from her lunchbox, and began eating faster. In less than ten minutes, she had devoured her meal like a whirlwind sweeping through leaves.
Blake Fuller tidied up the empty lunchbox, packed it in the bag, and threw it into the trash can.
He cleaned the table, tied up the trash, and carried it out of the hospital room, concerned that the lingering smell of food might affect her.

Turning the tap, he washed his hands, took one of the hanging towels to dry them, and then opened the hospital room's window for ventilation after stepping out of the washroom.
After dinner, Caroline took the remote control and turned on the ultra-thin TV hanging on the wall in front of her to watch the weather forecast.
