He does not get into the academy but gets caught in the scandal of various nobles. Then he joins the revolutionaries to rebel against nobles but soon realises he can't give up his dream. Note: This novel is definitely not one of those cultivation type of books the MC is some OP dude, with girls flocking around him and the likes. cos it is simply not one of them. He makes lots of impulsive decisions and is understandably naive. He will only grow stronger as the novel progresses. So, if this doesn't look like what you prefer, at least do not post some annoying reviews. Thanks for understanding.

Chapter 120- Easy Pickings

Dash quickly tapped a few buttons on one of the monitors and played the video back while Wilson and Charlie watched. Sofia had woken up, had called out to her big brother's Dash and Wilson. They were too far away to hear her but two people; both women - probably twins - heard her and one of them blasted a hole in the tree.

"Explosive Fire ability." Charlie muttered, his hand stroking his chin.

The other woman quickly waved her hand and pulled Sofia towards her.

"Telekinesis." Charlie muttered again, giving the name of the ability.

Dash said nothing and continued to quietly watch the playback video.

Sofia screamed in fear and called out for help. It irritated the two women and one of them roughly knocked her out and Dash clenched his fist and jaw. There was no finesse in the way she knocked little Sofia out. It was obvious she did that on purpose.

"Wicked." Wilson said.

"B*tch!" Charlie insulted her.

Dash then sped up the playback by four times and saw the direction they walked in. Using that information, he checked another screen and then another and another before skipping over to a tablet and tapped it a few times at amazing speed. Wilson could not help but think that if he tapped his phone that way, then he was just pressing it thoughtlessly.

Dash then pushed the video onto the biggest screen. It was a video from two minutes ago, of the two women rushing towards the wide part of the forest that was cleared and Dash had filled with explosives. Most of the bikes were destroyed there but some of them were parked and some of the fallen ones were sure to be at least partially functional.

"We can't let them reach any of those bikes." Wilson yelled with urgency and turned towards the teleportation disc.

"Dash, send me as close to that place as possible." He said.

"No." Dash responded and explained himself, " You are still injured and this is my fight anyway."

"But..."

"You stay here and help me watch out for any other hunters." Dash said.

Wilson could not rebut. Dash made lots of sense. He really was in no position physically to try to rescue someone.

Charlie stood beside Dash on the disc and said, "I'm coming with you. My jetpack is near there anyway. And I can't just stay and watch when I could be of help to an innocent, little girl."

Two seconds later, they were outside in the woods. Dash could see the two women's footprints - albeit faintly - and he immediately dashed in that direction, following the footprints while Charlie made a little speedy detour towards his lost jetpack.

Wilson stayed behind and watched as Dash ran at full speed, rapidly leaving the range of the hollow trees and hence the cameras and satellite.

At the edge of the forest's open area, these women slowed down a bit and looked around. They had previously passed through this part successfully, but after all their running and sneaking around, in search of their target (they did not care for Dash and only wanted to capture little Sofia who was worth more), they had forgotten where exactly they and the many other hunters had passed and searched to avoid blowing up.

Steadily yet speedily, they took each step, looking down at the bare ground carefully for any sign of mines. Since Dash had hurriedly planted the mines, they could easily be noticed once one paid close attention. The women only had to watch out for any irregularities in the ground level, whether the floor was slightly sunken or slightly protruded, while moving.

lt took them quite some time to reach the other end where their bikes were. As one of them placed Sofia in a compartment that magically attached to her bike, Dash came out of the forest. He saw her roughly drop his baby sister and was raving mad.

"Daughter of a Dog!"

He yelled. His running speed increased a notch once more as he dashed through the open area, crossing it in seconds much to the amazement of the two women.

*pew*

"Urgh!" One of the women groaned and hit the ground, dead, with blood freely oozing out of a small hole in her head. Her partner looked down at her with a shocked expression that complemented the shocked look on the dead woman's face.

Even Dash who was racing towards them at the time was shocked and even slowed down a bit.

The woman who was still alive quickly ducked and jumped towards a tree. She wanted to avoid the unknown shooter who had killed her partner from behind. She wanted to avoid the same fate as her partner and paid close attention to her blindspots. The only issue was, Charlie, who had shot and killed the first woman, did not care to follow up.

"Cheh!" He sneered and yelled at the woman in hiding, "I'm not the one you should be worried about."

"What?" She whispered to herself and then remembered. She looked up but saw no one. There was that speedster in front just earlier. Where did he go? She hurriedly looked around but saw no one. She gripped her gun tight and tried to listen for any footsteps or signs of movement. Anything at all.

*Crack*

She heard a crack sound. Quickly she turned that way and pulled the trigger a couple times.

*bang* *bang* *bang* *bang*

Unfortunately for her, it was merely a decoy.

With a whoosh, a snap and a crack, she died.

Dash had taken the opportunity to attack her from behind, hitting her neck with all his strength. That, coupled with his high speed, broke her neck, putting her out in one strike - permanently.

Without wasting time, Dash picked his sister up and returned to the hollow trees with Charlie following closely behind.

When they returned to the underground room, Wilson was beyond surprised.

"Already?" He asked. "We're those women easy pickings?"

Dash and Charlie looked at each other. The scene replayed in their heads.

"Yes!"

They really were easy pickings.

The women didn't even get to see their faces nor use their abilities before they died.
