A few days after the little drunken incident in the Midoriya household, Izuku was seen stuffing his backpack with random books and the school's uniform while Inko prepared their breakfast.
Summer break ended yesterday, much to Izuku's dismay. In his mind, there was literally no upside to him attending school. He'd have less time with Inko and Lin, less time to train, less freedom, and to top it all off, he'd have to deal with a barking dog if he wanted to go to school peacefully.
In the end, he had to deal with it because he needed that graduation paper to enroll in U.A. High. Besides, Izuku had no intention of staying in classes all day every five days of the week, he would skip some, if not most. What about grades? Well, what's a little bit of cheating if he's already killed?
The only possible backlash he thought this would bring is the school literally telling on him to Inko. He now realized that with love comes restrictions. In most cases, there is nothing he'd complain about, but this is not one of them.
Izuku hoped that his improved grades would be enough to calm Inko down and allow him to act freely.
Izuku was kissed on the cheek as he said his goodbyes after eating Inko's simple breakfast. He wasn't sure if Inko had forgotten about her drunken actions or if she was deliberately ignoring them, but he was content with this. For now, at least.
He left Lin to accompany Inko because he knew how free both of them are. He hadn't seen them talk or play with each other, but it would be nice if they could get along. After all, they were his two most beloved.
His school isn't exactly within walking distance. He'd normally need 25 minutes to get there by train, but if he ran at full speed, he could save about 5 minutes. That's why, on school days, Izuku decided to come early and forego his morning exercise routine to do it at school instead.
By the time Izuku arrived at his school, his training clothes were already drenched and full of sweat. The school gates were just about to be opened by his P.E. teacher who looked at him with a confused look.
"Izuku…?" He asked, unsure whether his eyes were tricking him. He'd never seen a student so drenched in sweat and so early in his 15-year career. "How come you're here already?"
"Morning training, Can I come in?" Izuku answered while running in his place to maintain his momentum. He saw his teacher nod as he opened the gate and nodded back before entering.
"Damn kids, getting quirkier day after day,"
~~~~~
Katsuki Bakugou, also known as Kacchan by his peers.
Ever since that day, things have not been going well for him.
Going back a month or so, on the last day of school, while everyone was celebrating their sweet release from school, only one boy remained seated and focused on his book.
Izuku Midoriya.
Bakugou and his 2 cronies looked at the boy. He was so focused on writing on his notes, his [Hero Analysis for the Future], as he called them that he didn't even notice the three figures approaching his desk.
Bakugou read the contents Izuku jolted down. It was about All-Might's latest rescue against a villain who can create wind blades with her hands.
The more Bakugou read his journal, the more he gets irritated. The level of attention and detail Izuku poured into it somehow irked him greatly.
'Why is this trash trying so hard…You can't reach me, fuck…'
When his 2 cronies were only about to take the book, Bakugou had already snatched it under Izuku's eyes and held it up high. He looked at the surprised Izuku and a big grin appeared on his face.
"Kacchan! Give it back!" Izuku tried his best to jump and grabbed the book from Bakugou's hand but couldn't as his hands were suddenly held still by Bakugou's cronies, holding him in place.
(A/N: Okay, since it wasn't really shown canonically how severe the bullying is, I'll go out on a limb and say Bakugou frequently gets physical. I'll also, from here on out say the school is absolutely dogpoop, with teachers never caring about the students or is negligent af. I mean, Bakugou isn't even afraid to use his quirk illegally and destroy Deku's table just to get a no-punishment record ffs.)
"Shut the hell up!" Bakugou yelled, He placed Izuku's book on his body, cupped his fist, and punched Izuku in the gut with all his might, damaging both the book and Izuku himself.
Izuku received the full force of the punch because Bakugou's two cronies held his body in place. They let go of Izuku's arm as he got down on all fours, trying to catch his breath.
Bakugou didn't relent. He crouched down and took the book from beneath Izuku's body, flashing it open in front of Izuku's face. "Your useless spit got on my book," He said as he slapped Izuku's face with it. "Say something or I'll burn your face along with it,"
Silence filled the atmosphere as they realized no one else was left in the class. Even the teacher had at some point left. Bakugou still had his smile as he waited for Izuku to say something. Anything.
He wanted to see what words can someone as useless as Izuku can say.
"...ck,"
"Hm? Speak louder dumbass,"
"Back…give it back Kacchan, plea–"
*BOOM*
…
Sizzles of smoke appeared in the air, enough to activate the class's smoke detector had it not been for one of Bakugou's cronies who absorbed it with his quirk.
Bakugou sneered as he slapped the burned book on Izuku's ashen face one last time. Before leaving, He kicked his head once more and left while laughing loudly, "Trash should stay where it belongs, okay Deku?"
The two cronies looked at the beaten Izuku as a bit of panic filled their eyes. After confirming that he was still breathing, the two sighed in relief and left with Bakugou, afraid of being his next victim.
