Chapter 3: Troublesome family

Ding!

"Congratulations you have completed the task, your rewards will wait for you in your bedside drawer," the angel said in a cheerful tone. Well, that's convenient, wait I think I see father entering, like all emperors he had that noble pretense that every upper-class citizen would give off.

I kept my head lower not daring to meet this body father eye to eye as he might be sent into a rage. He took a seat in his huge chair and clear his throat "How's everyone's day been?" his voice boomed across the dining hall, reaching everyone's ears.

A beautiful pale skin beauty spoke first "My day has gone pretty well your highness" she bowed her head a bit in his direction and just like that everyone began on how their days went before eating.

"How did your day go Qaihong Gho?" my father asked me in a stern tone, only then did I dare meet his eyes "My day went well, I spent the majority of my day in the library" I answered in a meek tone.

"May I eat now father emperor?" I asked in a polite tone while keeping up my meek act. "You may Qaihong Gho" he brought his attention to another one of my siblings. I began to eat quietly in an elegant manner.

'All of those years of practice has finally come to use' I thought with a slightly amused look on my face. To be honest in my past life as a princess cadent I was raised from a wealthy family and forced to learn all of the proper etiquettes despite the year that I died was 2018.

My mother and father had always been supportive about the future job career that I had chosen. I wanted to start my own business. Bang! I snapped my head upwards alerted by the loud noise, one of my sisters stood up with a pout.

"Father shouldn't I visit the next nation and not powerless Gho" my elder sister exclaimed, my father gave her a chilling look "This might be the only chance for your younger sister to find a finance that doesn't know about her being unable to cultivate" he briefly scolded my older sister with that same dead-eye look.

A shiver went down my spine causing me to involuntary shudder "Big sister are you feeling unwell?" I turn my head towards my younger half-blood brother Qaihong Deli. He has fiery red hair and piercing golden eyes. Unlike everyone else from this country, his mother is a foreigner with caramel color skin.

"Deli'er your big sister is fine. It is just a scary thought to get wedded" I explained to the little redhead. A good handful of my younger siblings treat me like a decent human being, from what I had gathered from the previous host memories.

So I must not treat them any differently "Qaihong Gho! Are you listening to me?" father emperor roared in annoyance at my lack of attention. I snap my head towards him "Of course Father emperor, I will go to Guiying capital city and try to find myself a possible husband" I lower my eyes again and spoke in a gentle tone.

He nodded his head in satisfaction, 'how unfortunate you are Qaihong Gho' I thought full of pity. My eyes brighten as a thought make its way into my mind "Angel, will be one of my possible death flags be in the Guiying kingdom?" I asked since the dinner topic is pretty unappealing.

"There two of them that live there, if you want I can get information on them" the angel replied with his usual gentle tone. I hummed a bit completely forgetting where I was "I would be truly grateful if you could do that for me angel" I voiced my gratitude inside my head towards the angel.

He laughed my gratitude off and flew through the wall of the pavilion in what I assume he is off to go look for that information. Now for the formation, I need to set up, I think I am going to need some wax candles but the question is can I get my hands on some?

Soon dinner with my dysfunctional family came to an end with the father emperor leaving first then the Cocunbines and finally we royal children. I sighed and got up from my chair to go and find my maid Cheng Chin when a small hand tugged at my skirt.

Qaihong Deli smiled brightly "Big sister come play with me in the gardens!" he said energetically. I squatted down to his height and patted him on the head "I'll meet you in the swans' gardens in twenty minutes" I hold out my pinky for a promise.

His eyes widen in surprise, he hooked his pinky with my own "Keep your promise big sister Gho" he exclaimed in that childish voice of his. He scurried off to the garden and I walked out of the pavilion to find my maid seating on a bench.

"Cheng Chin, go buy me some wax candles, I need them before nightfall" I order before leaving Cheng Chin alone before she can start bombing me with questions. I made my way to Swan Garden, where a beautiful woman with caramel color skin and fiery red curly hair sat.

Her eyes shape is downturned with long thick lashes, her beautiful orbs shined an extraordinary blue. Overall she looked out of this world, she dressed up like all of the other concubines but in black and blue hanfu that has beautiful patterns.

I lower my head "Concubine Zhu Ju, I am here to play with little Qaihong Deli" I stated my business on why I am inside the garden that the emperor had given to her. She gave me a gentle smile "Gho how many times have I told you to only call me aunty Ju when it's just me and you?" Zhu Ju playfully reprimanded me.

"I am sorry aunty Ju" I replied in a meek tone with my head lowered, as usual, she is one of the very few concubines that doesn't treat me like yesterday's trash. She got up from her chair and patted my head "Little Gho go and have fun" she left without saying another word.

I made my way to the big bush that looks like a swan from all of the flowers growing on it "The gardener outdone themselves" I blurt out in admiration. Something tackled me from behind, I didn't try to dodge since the individual didn't feel hostile.

"Guess who!" a small childish voice asked "Hmm let me think. Is it Qaihong Tong?" I asked with a furrowed brow "Nope! Try again!" the childish voice exclaimed in excitement "Then it must be Deli'er" I clasp my hands together.

"How did you know it was me, big sis?" Qaihong Deli let go of me and walked in front of me with big smiles. I squatted down and cupped my hands around his chubby face "How could I mistake Deli'er? I will always be able to recognize you! Big sister promises!" I stated mannerly.

Qaihong Deli's eyes brighten up even further "Big sister when I grow up to be a powerful cultivator I will protect you!" He announced out of nowhere. I felt my chest tighten from how sweet this little brother of mine is acting "Big sister will hold you up to that" I patted his curly red hair before getting up.

"Now what do you want to play?" I asked him with a gentle look gracing my fair features "Let's play hide and go seek, you will be seeker!" he giggled and runoff in a random direction. I smiled at his innocent nature and closed my eyes and started counting to thirty.

"28, 29, 30! Here your not! Here I come!" I shouted and then I have begun searching for little Qaihong Deli. I search through the hedges, under tables and benches with no luck of finding him.

Maybe he is hiding in the maze? I walk my way towards the beautiful blue and yellow flower maze. I spent ten minutes walking inside the maze only to find "Another dead end, then that means this way must lead to the center" I utter out my thoughts and continue my search when I heard a shrill scream.

I ran down the path and found a black-dressed individual chasing after the terrified Qaihong Deli "Bastard! Stay away from my baby brother!" I yelled in anger and pulled out a small pool and swung it down causing the small pool to grow into a long spear.

The assassin gazed landed on me and eyed the spear in my hand, I charge at the assassin with as much speed as I could muster up. I swipe my spear towards his neck, he blocked my attack with a long saber.

'Where did he pull that out of? His ass?' my eyes widen in shock, he must be a low-rank cultivator. I don't know if I'll be able to defeat him, a passed Deli a worried a look "Go get the guards Deli'er" I roar my battle cry and attack the assassin again with my spear.

Qaihong Deli ran off with tears streaming down his chubby cheeks, while I tried my best to keep the intruder at bay which proved to be quite difficult. The saber clashed with my spear many times almost to the point I thought my arms would give out.

I hope this chapter is satisfactory.
