A WISE MAN OBSERVES AND SPEAKS LESS

I woke up to the ringing of my door bell, as I slowly organized my thoughts to answer the door bell.

"How tired were you?" asked coach Michael.

"Uhm… I don't know, I just closed my eyes for like an hour" I said.

"An hour? Better think again have you seen the time?" he asked.

"Woah, it's that late?" I wondered as I checked my wrist watch.

"Any way, go take a shower, then we'll go have dinner and see to getting you guys clothes" coach Michael said as he turned to leave.

"What about the guys?" I asked.

"I already told them, meet us in half an hour" he added before leaving.

Ruffling my hair, I made my way to my backpack as I searched for my towel and toothbrush before heading to the bathroom which was so different from all the bathrooms I had ever made us of.

"This is what makes people kill for money" I thought as I took a shower.

Opening my room door, I bumped in Enri.

"Hey, where's Grey?" I asked.

"He should be in coach Michaels room. What do you think of it?" he asked with a smile.

"Imperial Towers? It's awesome, I see why people kill for money" I said.

"Yeah, it's one of the most outstanding buildings in the world" he said in awe, "I wonder how much was invested into creating such a tower, countless engineers worked on this single project".

"I was about to come find you guys" said Coach Michael as he spotted us outside his room door, "I thought you guys were never going to show".

"Hahaha, we would definitely show up since we would only suffer tomorrow if we don't eat now" said Enri.

"Its good you boys know that, now let's go" said Coach Michael, "Grey" he called, as Grey came out of his room.

Grey immediately ran behind me and Enri as if to hide from coach Michael.

"Coach, why don't you just go ahead? I need to get something from Hyla, we'll meet you there" said Grey.

"Sure, just remember to come down to the 120th floor there's a restaurant on that floor, I'll be waiting for you guys there" he said as he left.

"We should have said no" said Grey after seeing coach Michael disappear behind the elevator doors.

"What are you saying?" I asked.

"I thought it was like a simple competition but coach Michael said that even national level athletes barely fit into the criteria to attend this competition and we'll be fighting against people who had been trained since their childhood in martial arts to an impeccable degree, how are we supposed to survive?" he asked with disbelief and an increasing amount of fear.

"that's why you're scared?" asked Enri as he burst out laughing.

"It's easy for you to laugh when you're not as good looking as me" retorted Grey.

"Says who? I think Susanne has been lying to you" countered Enri.

My phone starts ringing,

"Hey Kat" I answered, obviously it was Katrina wo called me.

"Hey, I just got back today" she said, "Do you have time, let's go out for lunch?" she asked.

"Uhm… I totally forgot to tell you since you were busy with your things but me and the guys travelled out of the country for a competition, we were just about to have dinner" I said in low voice.

"What? When?" she asked.

"Just early this morning, we are in the United States of America" I said, "I'm really sorry I forgot to tell" I said.

"It's okay, after all it's for a competition, you better go have dinner" she said.

"Oh alright, I'll call you later" I said before hanging up.

"This guy is seriously stupid" said Grey, "after hanging out with me, how can you not pick up any of my skills?" he asked.

"What?" I asked.

"You know what forget it we better go have dinner" said Enri, "stop being a pussy Grey" he added.

"Grey stop, thinking about the competition too much, you won't die" I said.

"How sure are you? It only takes a single mistake to kill someone" said Grey as he began to imagine crazy things.

"There's no use talking to you, let's go Enri" I said as I made my way to the elevator.

"Pu**y" Enri said shaking his head at Grey.

"Where have you guys been?" asked Coach Michael as we sat at the table he was sitting at.

"It took longer to sort Grey's problem out" I said with a laugh while scratching my head and trying to look innocent.

"It does not matter, alright order your dinner" he said.

The restaurant was half filled with other athletes and coaches having dinner, while talking in hushed tones as if the other people in the athletes and coaches were trying to eaves drop on their strategies for the AGC. We paid no heed to that as we were quite loud as we ordered so much food the other coaches had no choice but to take a couple of glances at us.

Usually before competitions such as this, athletes were expected to stick to a strict diet but we were busy stuffing ourselves up with so much food it looked like an eating contest.

Grey and Enri began ordering enough meat, that would be able to fill the stomachs of at least seven guys even if we were to eat with those seven guys included before they decided to add some greens to the mix as if that wasn't enough they ordered four large cola's.

Coach Michael just smiled while watching the waiters bring the dishes as he said "Yes, that's right, you guys better stuff yourselves up now because tomorrow you guys will have to put in the equivalent of what you eat into your training".

Grey and Enri instead of taking things slow when coach Michael said that decided to order more dishes like two animals that had not been fed in a long time.

I on the other hand had no other choice but to stuff myself as well because hearing coach Michael, I knew it was better to die from over eating than from the training which was going to be even more intense.
