BLOODLINE NINE

It's been a month since the incident with those tentacles. A lot has changed about me. I can control my power now, but not completely. Maybe I can only use basic attacks with my abilities. Regarding my power, they say it's really fire, but the color changed because something triggered when I was choosing my power—an object associated with thunder in the elemental dimension. That's why my fire appears violet.

"Shione! Babe!" I suddenly heard from behind.

It was Ace.

"Babe yourself! Babe your face!" I shouted as he approached.

"Awwh... You're really something. I've been courting you for a month now, but you still haven't answered me," he said sadly.

"By the way, Ace, where's Ardaux?" I asked him.

Ace suddenly frowned when I asked.

"Why?" he countered.

"Wow, seriously? I ask a question and I get a question back. You're something else," I said, playfully hitting his shoulder, but he seemed unaffected and quickly walked away, so I followed.

"Ace, why are you upset?" I asked, but he didn't turn to look at me, only quickening his pace to a run.

"Ace!" I shouted loudly, but he didn't look back.

Geez, what's his problem? I was just asking a question. I'll patch things up with him later.

"Well.. well.. well... Look who's here, Mr. Nerdy Fag," the girl said.

It was Alice again.

"Alice..." Oh God, it's Alice again. I don't know what her problem is, but she's been eyeing me since last month. Maybe she has a crush on me, but sorry, we're not a match, lol. And what's with 'Nerdy Fag'? Nerdy Fag, seriously? But wait, you might be curious how we met.

"Hey, fag," the girl said, and I quickly slapped her.

"Ooh, sorry, my bad. I thought you were that gay parasite clinging too tight to Ace," she said and walked out.

Geez, she's so sassy! Isn't it fun! Of course, since I'm not the one she's looking for and I'm a good person, I just ignored her slap. There wasn't anyone around anyway.

"Ardaux!" I said and hugged him.

"Oh? Where's Ace? Aren't you always together?" he asked.

"Yeah, but I don't know what's wrong with him. I just asked a question and he walked out! Can you believe that?" I said to him.

"Ahhh, okay, okay. So when are you going to answer him?" Ardaux asked with a smile.

"Oh, I don't know yet," I replied.

"Oh? So there's hope, huh?" he teased.

"Shut up, you dirty thing!" I angrily said, hitting his shoulder.

"Geez, Shione, sorry, I didn't mean to. Sorry for that," he apologized.

He's also the reason why I became friends with Ardaux, because we have the same... lineage... Hahaha. If you're thinking what I'm thinking, then we're thinking the same thing. Yeah! He's bisexual. Hahaha, I didn't even know at first.

"Ardaux," I said.

"I know Ace gets jealous when I mention your name. I'm not oblivious," I said.

"So, how was it? Any improvements?" I asked on the other end of the line.

"Yes, hello, boss. Yes, we're making progress with what we're doing," the voice replied.

I smirked. Shione doesn't know me; she doesn't know who I really am.

"Good, keep an eye on him," I commanded.

"Consider it done, boss," was the reply.

I hung up the call. I can't wait until he suffers. I'm trembling with excitement!
