Kurogane Ryu - Useless People

Ryu stood at an open door, his blades tearing through the approaching zombies with ease as his blood qi increased rapidly. The hidden blades were far more useful against these monsters in tight spaces.

"Chao, those idiots we saved, why did you stop me killing them?"

"Eh?"

It was only Ryu, Darren, Max and Chao fighting desperately.

The lightning woman was also fighting. However, her eyes showed fear and anticipation whenever she looked at Ryu on the opposite side.

"We chose the east, and these rats who used to bully you are now sitting with the girls you were interested in."

"With your small size, do you want to become a cuckold?"

Ryu didn't say this out of anger or bullying. He placed his palm without a spec of the zombie blood on Chao's head.

"Go on, me and the Woman will hold the door. Do your best, brother. If they cause trouble, I will kill them for you."

"...Ryu, don't be so quick to talk about killing. But bro, the fact you can say that for me... For us. I will never forget it."

Chao looked relieved and happy. He seemed worried the cute Milly might get charmed by the people they had saved last night.

After Ryu woke up, they desperately headed east, wanting to reach the shopping centre with the military-grade doors and security mechanisms.

'Who would have thought those trash would survive the first two nights.'

Ryu kicked the doors closed.

He was the only one able to close the safety doors, several inches thick, and the military doors, over ten inches thick.

"Oi woman, why are you acting so stupid? If you don't come closer, I will let the ones that fling venom burn your pretty face."

If she said her name, Ryu had forgotten it—she was nobody special or someone in his heart, just a hole he used to sate the desires within and increase his points.

"D-don't touch me if I do!" Her words trembled as she slowly, filled with precaution, slid closer to him and stood around thirty centimetres away.

'I won't bite you when there are zombies, idiot.'

The zombies began to move more actively since the gates opened suddenly last night. Ryu was sleeping in the open while the lightning girl swayed on his hips...

If it wasn't for that, the entire group might have gotten caught off guard and killed. Well, not Ryu, but the others would have been dead.

"So, lightning, what is that anyway, something like magic the way your fingers go biri biri."

"T-that... I don't know. Suddenly, after the gates opened, I became sick and almost died, but when those disgusting things were about to eat me, the lightning seemed to answer my feelings and electrocuted the area around me until they were burned to ash."

Ryu tapped his chin, slamming his left arm out to crush the skull of a basic zombie.

He began to classify them in the same way as his cultivation.

Basic were like mortals, with low strength, movement and intelligence. They were a little stronger than a normal human, but their intelligence increased, making sneak attacks and traps more deadly.

Then there were Stage One's that gained an ability, be it speed, power, endurance or regeneration...

They were far stronger than a basic mortal but weaker than Ryu when he was Stage One, so he assumed their combat power would be lower than twenty, with maybe twenty-five or so in their prioritised combat style.

Some could even get abilities like spitting acid or venom that would infect others from a distance or climbing the walls or ceilings.

'It was a hassle...'

"So you are like an evolved human or a mutant, huh... I wonder if you can evolve that ability more by using it."

"..." The Woman was silent as she adjusted her undergarments and looked at her fingers.

"It seems to be called Exceed... The name comes to my mind when I try to determine what it is... Like Exceeding myself as a normal human, maybe?"

She seemed pleased with this and looked at Ryu, her blonde hair blocking her cheeks.

"I see..."

He felt slightly annoyed that he didn't evolve and relied on his hard work, training, and using this Woman as his practice tool.

"Have you noticed yet?" Ryu asked her as he stepped forward with a huge rock, tensing his arm as he tossed it like a bomb. The rock howled before it exploded the entire chest cavity of a zombie hiding behind a broken car.

"Noticed?" She was a little confused and seemed to have let down her guard, but like Ryu, she pointed her finger like a gun to condense the lightning into a small bolt and zapped a distant zombie around forty yards.

"Three things, first the fact that since the gates re-opened, the zombies seem to have evolved. Even the weakest are now stronger than the average human."

"Eh!? I thought it was just my imagination..."

"Good, you are not completely useless."

"Second, have you not noticed the improvements to your body after each time?"

"Each time?"

The Woman's face seemed to suddenly realise as she looked angry, distraught, then embarrassed and looked back to the shopping centre where her best friends were safe and sound inside.

"Hmph..."

"The last thing is that unlike before when the gates closed, they no longer stop and shuffle around like they have no orders... The gates are closed, yet they hunt us down using what little intellect they have."

"!!!"

Ryu smirked at her shocked look before he stepped off the stairs and rushed toward a ground of ten or so zombies.

They seemed to be all Stage One but were nothing special and chose the Endurance path with a more muscular body and slightly solid shell that covered their arms.

His Nine-Ring Broadsword created sparks as he dragged it along the floor into combat with them.

BOOM!

The sword slashed out horizontally, cutting six cleanly in half, sending their top and bottom halves flying in opposite directions.

He then used his skilful swordsmanship and quickly danced through the remaining four, cutting off their heads and stabbing his sword directly through their skulls before retracting it and looking at the Woman.

Another thing he liked about Stage One zombies was they gave him ten points each.

"!!!"

He smiled, seeing her shocked but blushing cheeks as she held a ball of lightning in her hand, ready to help him. Ryu nodded before rushing toward another batch of zombies.

It took him only a few minutes to kill fifty Stage One Zombies.

Seeing his skill and power, the Woman was once again astonished by the man who saved her life and realised how handsome he was.

Yet his despicable actions and bone-melting pleasure caused her to resist him with all her heart and mind.

Knowing there was nothing to pursue in that path but death.

"By the way, woman, what is your name?" Ryu asked, as his huge blade flicked the rotten blood onto the ground; his eyes closed as he enjoyed the pleasant feeling of his blood qi increasing.

Now, only one hundred points were needed—he could use this woman to help increase it by another thirty as they rest tonight, leaving seventy zombies to kill before they head back.

"....Freya...."

"Hmm? Freya?" He opened his eyes and stared deeply at her.

"Yes, that is my name."

"Okay, from now on, you will call me Master, okay, Woman?" Ryu laughed.

"...Freya."

"Fine, Fine. Let's go, woman." Ryu chuckled, walking toward the distant street, wanting to kill as many as possible tonight because he couldn't fall behind.

"!!!" Freya clenched her teeth, thinking, 'Why is it woman or big tits? Can't he just use my fucking name!'

However, she followed silently, knowing her life was in his hands and had no choice.

Yet she was in awe at how easily he could kill the zombies and was desperate to use him even if he would drag her into his bed each night to "Cultivate."
