"Go on, do what you're doing. Don't mind me here."
Iris stole a glance over the vampire that was sitting with his long legs crossed in front of him on the pink armchair in her room like he owned it.
The pink chair didn't mellow down the danger in his aura. His brooding eyes were hot on her, watching her every move as though he was trying to read her or something. He had been doing that since they went down together in the basement with much dismay from Monette.
A small smirk pulled the corner of her lips. This vampire is dangerous but it felt good to have something that her sister was envious of her for the first time.
"You said you're just going to be in your room," she finally said when the awkwardness just got too much for her.
The room that she was talking about was the enclave under the staircase next to her bedroom door. When the basement got renovated, that part wasn't touched and just covered with wallpaper with palm leaves and pink flamingos.
Now, the wall has a gaping hole and Iris realized that it runs under the house. The hollow space was twice as big as the basement that she was using.
"I need to observe you and that machine that you're using to learn things about this world."
"Why didn't you stay with Monette then?" She mumbled under her breath as she continued to type in her laptop computer.
"She is more annoying than you."
Iris choked on her saliva in surprise. She didn't expect that he could hear her because her voice was too low, she could not even hear it on her own.
"Come here!"
Her fingers froze over the keyboard as she stared at her own reflection on her laptop monitor, watching the silhouette of the man behind her.
She doesn't want to move but the commanding tone of the vampire seemed to have power over her. She slowly turned her gaming chair and faced the vampire who uncrossed his legs.
"Do not make me repeat myself. Come!"
Iris sucked some air and found herself slowly rising from her chair and striding towards the man. She stopped in front of his knees.
He grabbed Iris's left wrist and parted his legs. "Kneel down," he said in a low voice.
"Excuse me?" Her voice cracked and her eyes widened. She squinted her eyes that landed on his groin. What does he mean by kneeling down, she thought with her cheeks burning in embarrassment. He didn't mean for her to kneel in front of him, did he? Her eyes furrowed thinking of the scenario in her head.
"Iris," he called her name in annoyance. He hated the fact that he couldn't get a peek at what she was thinking. He knew that she wasn't doing the meditation that Fleur and her family do to hide their thoughts from them in the past. Theo knew the said breathing technique, however, Iris didn't.
And yet, he can't read her mind and it's driving him insane. It doesn't matter that her face was so open and her expression can be easily read. He wanted to know what was behind those eyes that seemed to penetrate deep into his hollow chest and made it skip a beat.
"Hey!" She protested when the vampire pulled her down to make his point. She stumbled and ended up between his legs.
"Listen, Iris. Your family is my servant. I am your master. When I said kneel, you kneel without asking any question. Do you understand that?"
"What do you want me to do?" She asked, about to cry.
"Tsk. I just said no question!" He snapped at her, slowly gathering the tendrils of her long locks away from her face. He took half of her hair in his hands, exposing her neck.
Iris realized what the vampire was going to do and she sniffled a sob in her mouth. Her chest was beating wildly like a drum and her body started to shake in terror and yet, she closed her eyes as if anticipating what the vampire was going to do to her.
Calixto was about to lower his mouth to the throbbing pulse on Iris's slender neck when his attention was diverted to the lone tear that rolled down on her flushed cheek. A victorious feeling rose above his chest. The excitement he was feeling was akin to conquering a long-desired conquest.
He tilted her head to the side by pulling the bunch of her hair, making the line of her neck taut, the pulse on her neck prominent. Must be from the nervousness she was feeling. He grinned like the predator that he was when he heard the erratic heartbeat of Iris. They were like music to his ears.
His eyes turned bloodshot and his fangs elongated as he bent down and buried them in her delicious neck. His member throbbed when he heard Iris whimper the moment his fangs grazed her skin and blood rushed out in her veins.
'Ahhh…this sweet blood. I miss this.' He thought to himself as he inhaled the intoxicating smell that emitted from Iris's skin.
'Flower scent?'
His mouth stopped sucking the puncture wound on her neck when he realized that the flowery scent that he was smelling was not from her blood but from Iris herself. She smelled like a field of wildflowers and the scent was making him so intoxicated, he stopped feeding.
"Hmm..aghhh…"
The soft moaning of protest from Iris pulled him out of his daze and noticed that he stopped sucking her blood, it now tricking along her collarbone.
He darted his tongue to lick the blood and Iris moaned deliriously. It was all he needed to return to his feeding frenzy. His hand pulled the small of her back, having her closer to him as he sucked her neck in total abandon.
The hunger that he felt all those years that his thoughts were hovering at the back of his mind as his body slumbered was released now that he had the blood of Fleur entering his veins.
"Please…don't kill me."
