Mariano went around the building twice, making sure that there wasn't anyone or anything that could pose any kind of danger to Iris. When he was satisfied, he entered their penthouse through the kitchen window that he left open. 

After he closed the kitchen window, he went to the living room and stood still in the middle of the room, lost in the beauty of the night framed by the high ceilings and glass windows. 

This place is affluent. Something that isn't easy to acquire. He wondered how much money Calixto had to afford all of it or if he just asked someone to let them stay here. 

A few years after he got bitten and turned into a vampire, he learned many tricks that their kind does to humans. Those tricks were easy to do but hard to sustain because the person you hypnotized could be out of it if you're not powerful enough.
