"Hm–what?" asked Lucien.
It seemed like Lucien had heard wrong since Mikaela went silent again. Mikaela was curled up holding his legs with his chin over his knees as he stared at the tranquil air space.
"Did you know... about what they thought about us and our parents?"
A soft voice spoke up again. After a long time of silence, a carefully said question was presented to Lucien.
"No, Kaela. I just found out today as well."
'I became sure today, to be more specific…but he wouldn't want to hear that…' Lucien thought in the passing. He didn't lie at the very least.
"Okay, thank you for telling me."
"Sure…" responded Lucien, unsure if he should accept such heavy gratitude.
The rest of the evening was spent staring at the river and the insects flying about. The tall grass danced to the wind's whim and the birds chirped a symphony in the distance.
Mikaela and Lucien were both lost in thoughts of their own.
