The maidservants that were startled by the smashed plate immediately shrank back. A few came forward with a broom to sweep the fragments away.
Wang Han cautiously approached Lin Yitian and asked, "Second young master, what's wrong?"
"Too sweet!" Lin Yitian jumped out of his chair and began pacing back and forth. "Didn't I tell you not to give me any dishes that are too sweet? I hate it, I hate it, I hate it!"
Wang Han did not lose his composure. He patiently said, "Second young master, we will immediately prepare another dish, please wait a moment."
Lin Yitian did not hear him, he only continued to mutter "I hate it" while pacing back and forth. Every furniture that was within his reach was smashed into the floor. Antique sculptures, jade ornaments, a medieval chess set...not a single one was left intact.
Bang!
Smash!
Bang!
All the servants retreated to one corner, fear visible in their eyes. They tried to stay away from the rampaging Lin Yitian as much as possible.
Wang Han finally came back, carrying a tray of new dishes. "Second young master, please eat."
Lin Yitian grabbed a bowl from him and tasted a piece. Suddenly, the bowl flew forward and nearly hit Wang Han.
"I hate it!"
The contents of the bowl were turned over, food spilling on the floor. Lin Yitian pushed away the tray that Wang Han was holding, making everything turn into a mess.
Lin Yitian shouted, "I hate it, I hate it, I hate it!"
The veins on his neck bulged out, his hands balled into fists. Lin Yitian's face was distorted with anger. He looked frightening, like a malicious ghost.
Some of the maidservants with weaker hearts were already crying. It was one thing for them to expect Lin Yitian's daily tantrums, but when they were suddenly treated to weeks of endless peace and quiet...they couldn't but feel terrified by his rage that came out of the blue.
The crying of the maids, because of fear, were noisy and loud. Lin Yitian clapped his hands to his ears and squatted on the floor, rocking back and forth on his heels.
"Shut up!" he screamed hysterically.
Wang Han hurriedly shooed the maids away, leaving him and Lin Yitian alone inside the dining room.
Lin Yitian had still not vented out his frustration. Every time he recalled that she was not inside the mansion but somewhere else, far away from him, a terrifying monster seemed to move inside him.
He couldn't bear to part away from her, even this little bit of distance, he couldn't bear it.
Lin Yitian raised his leg and violently kicked a glass cabinet, shattering the glass and breaking the antiques stored inside. He was just like a wild animal that had broken out of his cage, his eyes lost and frenzied.
Bang!
He fiercely smashed a chair on the ground, breaking it into pieces.
Smash!
The TV was stomped on, the screen cracked.
Bang!
An antique flower vase was pushed off.
In less than a minute, all the furniture inside the living room was destroyed. Lin Yitian stood in the middle of it all, breathing heavily.
"Second young master..." Wang Han looked at the mess inside and gulped, "Should I call Miss Su and tell her to come back?"
If at this moment Wang Han still didn't realize that Lin Yitian had lost his temper because a certain person went out of the house, he would have lived his old life for nothing.
Lin Yitian's pupils shrank. His whole body had turned frozen, his hands clenching and unclenching. Then he suddenly ran up the stairs and slammed the door to his study.
Wang Han, "..."
Did he just accidentally call the name of Buddha?
...
Song Jia went back to her family with the intention of paying a visit to Su Qi. Because her parents hadn't seen her for a while, it took hours over breakfast for them to catch up.
Finally, Song Jia stood in front of her twin sister's bedroom door, raising her hand to knock.
"I told you I don't want to eat breakfast!" Su Qi howled, her voice sounding suspiciously hoarse from crying.
Song Jia pursed her lips, and twisted the knob open.
Su Qi heard the sound of footsteps and raised her face from that pillow that was still wet with her tears.
"I told you, I'm not dieting, I just don't want to eat..." Her voice faded when she saw that it was Song Jia. "Sister?"
Su Qi's face was pale. Her eyes were rimmed with red, her nose swollen. She appeared as if she had been crying nonstop for days.
Song Jia pretended to be shocked. "What happened to you?"
Hearing her words, new tears began to drip out of Su Qi's eyes. "Sister...I, I tried to meet with Nie Poan..."
Bingo! Song Jia exclaimed jackpot in her heart.
"I told you not to look for him!" Song Jia sat next to her on the bed. "So? What happened?"
"He...hic...he told me that I, I wasn't his type...hic...and...wuu...he hooked up with other women in front of me!"
Su Qi began to cry loudly again, burying her face into her pillow and pounding the bed with her fists.
As expected, Song Jia thought. Their family was only a normal middle-class family. Unless they were wealthy like the Lins, or Su Qi was the wife of a Lin, Nie Poan wouldn't be interested in her twin sister.
"I told you that he looked like a slag man," Song Jia said. "The type of men that show their abs on their QQ profile are typically scum."
Su Qi didn't pay attention to Song Jia's words and only cried even louder.
