It was an interesting question. But that wasn't what Mist should have been asking. It should have been more like "How?"

Blood stains were splattered all over the ground and walls like paint. His eyes traced the source of the red blood back to three badly gored bodies on the floor. Two Dancers and one scientist. Odd statistics, but considering what the doctors said when the experiments first began, it all made sense.

'We're stronger than you.' It wasn't mindless boasting after all.

The two dancers dead were Oruna and Ball Demon, ranking number sixteen and seventeen, respectively. Those two might have survived if the last three Evolutionaries were there instead. It was not their lucky day.

Hugo looked over at the scientist and discovered that he was no one important. He was important enough that he'd contributed, but not so important to the extent that he couldn't be replaced.
