Monkey Around

The monkey sculptures performed different poses. Hugo recognized the basic three; hear no evil, see no evil and speak no evil.

There were other poses that he guessed were made by Liam himself. There was even one where it was made to look like the monkey was swinging from a vine.

Hugo touched one of the sculptures, caressing the unnaturally smooth surface like it was the most natural thing in the world.

"Don't exert too much force onto it, otherwise it'll break!" Liam called out from atop a monkey statue elsewhere.

"I'll try my best to be careful."

"You do that!"

Liam jumped from statue to statue, each time breaking the fall with his umbrella. His movements were improvised, and Hugo could see that from the very beginning.

The white umbrella twirled once it received the slightest of wind and broke his fall each time.

"Hugo, what is a martial art? Is it a fighting method? A form of choreography?"
