Chapter 11: Quick Timeskip

A/N: As we've reached chapter 11 now, I think now's the time to finally post the stat scaling I've gone for. 

Be warned, it's only for magic scaling. In terms of physical stats, I want you guys to help me and whatnot. Also, feel free to give suggestions for my magic scaling if you think it should be changed up or something.

This will be an auxiliary chapter.

A few hours had passed since Yami had offered to train Suzaku in the way of the sword.

Unsurprisingly, Suzaku had accepted, hence multiple hours passing as Yami put Suzaku through hell with his training.

"Haa...Haa... Can't you go... a little... easier, captain?" He pleaded as he gasped for air as he was talking.

Currently, Suzaku was holding his katana in a weak stance due to being pounded (Don't make it weird) by Yami during training, who stood opposite him with no stance as he took a smoke of his cigarette.

"Come on, kid... you can do better than that" Yami taunted, much to Suzaku's anger, though he couldn't argue as Yami wasn't necessarily wrong.

"HAAHHH!-" Suzaku cried, but came to a halt as he sensed a high amount of magic power nearby.

Thanks to having lightning magic, Suzaku realised a few months ago that he had a really strong talent when it came to sensing magic - he also found out this ability improves with the magic stat, very shocking.

"Looks like training's come to an end..." Yami then looked up at the sky to realise it was now dark, "I didn't realise we stayed up this late training... Oh well, time to go deal with that, I guess" He shrugged as he slowly walked closer to the high magic power. 

Suzaku followed along.

"My my... her magic's seriously gone out of control" Vanessa said

"Woah, that's some serious magic!" Magna gasped in awe

"Well damn... That's all I gotta say to be honest" Suzaku irrelevantly added.

"Since she's in there, she'll get hurt if we attack it with magic..." Yami stated, "If only we had a guy with anti-magic..."

"AAHHH!" A screaming, flying Asta could be seen as he was falling from the sky towards Yami and the others.

"Oh, nice. Perfect timing, kid!" Yami joked as he grabbed Asta with one hand, "10 points for the landing.

Now, go do something about that" He bluntly said, causing Asta to scream and panic

"WHAT AM I MEANT TO DO ABOUT THAT?!"

"Asta, you know you have the power to literally CUT magic, right?" Suzaku sighed.

"YEAH, BUT HOW AM I MEANT TO GET UP THERE!? IT'S NOT LIKE I CAN FLY!" 

Oh boy... poor Asta. Yami smirked as he went into a throwing position, Asta still in hand.

"Oi oi oi, Captain, What are you do-"

"There... surpass your limits!! Right here, right now" Yami then threw Asta like a ball

"-INGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG!" He cried as he flew through the air.

Composing himself, Asta stopped screaming as he opened his grimoire and pulled out his anti-magic sword.

With a cry, Asta easily slashed through the massive water bubble, causing the rain drops to cover the black bulls base.

"Uhm... we're fallLLINGGGGGGG! I'M GONNA DIE!" Asta screamed, but was silenced by a knight in lightning armour (Godspeed) catching both him and Noelle in the air.

"Stop screaming, man. A fall at this height most likely wouldn't kill someone like you anyway" Suzaku groaned as he landed on the ground, releasing both Asta and Noelle (Who finally regained consciousness), as well as his godspeed.

"Well done, kid" Yami congratulated Asta with a smile, ignoring the rain drops that drenched everybody outside.

Noelle stood with her head down as memories of ridicule from her family and outsiders began to drown her thoughts.

'Not again... they're gonna shout at me again...!' She feared as she heard Asta shout "Ah! HEY!" As he approached her.

'Here it comes!-'

"THAT'S SOME FREAKIN' AWESOME MAGIC YOU GOT! YOU'RE AMAZING!" He complimented, stunning Noelle as she looked at Asta, speechless. "Dang it! I don't have any magic, so I'm super jealous right now!

If you train until you can control it... You'll be unstoppable!!"

Noelle had her mouth open as she still couldn't comprehend what was happening.

"Seriously? You couldn't control your magic, that was it?" Magna approached, "Should've told us sooner, royal failure" He smiled

"We're the black bulls, a whole group of failures - Well, except for that guy over there (He pointed to Suzaku) - That little flaw of yours ain't a problem, idiot" Magna stated.

"Ow!" Noelle snapped out of her shock with a literal shock as she looked to her side to see Suzaku standing there with a finger pointed at her.

"That was for earlier... if you need help with controlling your magic, you can ask any of us. Well, except for Asta" Suzaku joked, causing everyone to laugh.

Noelle smiled as she observed the laughing members of the black bulls which gave her a never-felt-before happiness. Furthermore, she also received some more compliments and whatnot from the other black bulls members.

"Here" Asta put his arm out, holding the black bulls robe that she previously threw on the floor and stepped on, "We're all here for you, Noelle!" He smiled, causing her to tear up as she took the robe and put it on.

"Thank you... very much" She began to break down, much to everyone's surprise.

About 3 days of doing nothing had passed. Everyone sat at the dining table this morning when Asta decided to bring up a question that's been on his mind since becoming a black bull member.

"So, what do magic knights do?" His question got feedback from every experienced member in the squad.

"Oi, Suzaku, comere" Yami pulled Suzaku aside whilst everyone was talking about a magic knight's duties.

"What's up?" Suzaku asked, wondering why he was pulled aside.

"You've been given a solo mission. The captains all requested for you to be given a mission to see if you're potential is actually as high as they think it is - something like that. To be honest, I didn't really pay attention when I got given the mission so, just go to the place and don't fail" Yami then walked away once he gave Suzaku a paper that showed the location and what the mission objective is.

[User has been issued a quest - "Defeat the bandits and rescue the villagers from their impending doom"]

[Quest requirement: Defeat all the bandits (Subdue them or kill them) + Prevent the death of any villagers]

[Quest Rank: D]

"Huh... that was kind of easy. Though, it was only a D rank mission to be fair" Suzaku said as he wiped a sweat drop from his face.

[Quest Complete: "Defeat the bandits and rescue the villagers from their impending doom"]

[Quest Rewards: 500 Points] He also received 100 points total from defeating all the bandits.

[Points: 7500 -> 8100] Let's not forget to mention the physical stat points he's starting to gain from training with Yami now as well.

[Strength: 14,000 -> 19,000 Points] [Strength Rank: B-]

[Agility: 14,000 -> 19,000 Points] [Agility Rank: B-]

[Vitality: 14,000 -> 19,000 Points] [Vitality Rank: B-]

'Maybe I should've joined Asta, Noelle and Magna... though I couldn't really help that I got given a mission from the captains.

At least this should prove that I can take harder missions, so maybe I'll receive harder missions in the future, hopefully'

"Good job, kid" Yami congratulated, "You even got us another star! Now that makes minus 29! Goddamn it... it's an odd number" Yami mildly complained as he placed a star onto the board.

"And here, here's your wages for this month as well. Maybe you can join Asta and Noelle with Vanessa, I heard they were gonna go shopping tomorrow. It's up to you though, I'ma take a shit now, don't disturb me" Yami said, walking away with a puff of his smoke.

Holding his bag of coins, Suzaku went up to his room and went to sleep after asking Asta if he could join the trio in shopping, to which he cheerfully agreed to.

'Guess I'm going shopping tomorrow, noice'

A/N: Small, quick little chapter. This is more of a quick timeskip to the actual plot of this story as it starts pretty much next chapter.

It's also a chapter to announce that due to school, updates will obviously be slower as I have college exams to do, so obviously I can't be spending all my time on webnovel and stuff.
