Chapter 4• Meeting Him

Yoon Byeol POV

7th March (Friday), 10:46 AM

Suzy guided me to the garden of the hospital. When we stepped out of the hospital into the garden, I immediately felt the cool wind blow against my face. "It has been a long time since I've felt this." I told Suzy. I took off my shoes, feeling the soft grass underneath my feet.

Then I hear a phone ring. It was Suzy's. "Hello? I'm in the garden. What? Ok. I'll be there." Then she hangs up. "Work time?" I ask her. "Yea I'm so sorry I can't stay longer. I'll come find you when I'm done okay?" I nod.

Being the chief's daughter is hard, yet she still wanted to take a good care of me. I heard her leave by listening to her footsteps fainting away. I sighed at the thought of being alone again. I decided to release my energy by running around the garden. I don't care about what's around me, I just want to be free and forget everything about life.

I continue running forward. Then I hear someone shout. "Yah! Be careful!" It was a boy. The next thing I know, I am being pulled away and I fell on top on someone. I quickly pushed him away since I'm scared of strangers and the fact that I'm blind, but he pulled me into his embrace again.

I could smell his scent and it smelled like flowers which made me relax. "Y-yah, what do you think you're doing?" I stuttered. I try to get away from him again but he just keeps pulling me towards him. "Can't you see what you're doing right now?" He asks with concern in his voice. "How am I supposed to see when I'm blind?" I mumble but loud enough for him to hear me. "Oh.. I-I'm sorry..." he says.

He rolls me under him and gets up, then pulls me up afterwards.

"What did I try to do that made you panic when you don't even know me?" I ask him with confusion in my voice. "You we're running towards a lake so I thought you wanted to.. you know..." he mumbles the last part but loud enough for me to hear. I am embarrassed that I did that even though I can't help it.

"Well um... thank you for saving me. How about I treat you a cu-" "Byeol-ah!" I was cut off my a familiar voice. "Unnie?" I hear her walking towards us. "Who are you? What are you doing with Byeol?" She asks, obviously referring to Jimin.

"Ah... she was running around and almost ran into the lake so I pulled her away." I heard him say calmly. "Oh, thank you so much but will you please excuse us." Suzy says. Then I feel her pulling me away and back into the hospital.

Jimin watched them leave as their silhouettes disappeared into the big building. He didn't know why but he felt as if blankness took over him after the girl left. When he was with her, all his insecurities and stress vanished. He knew that he must befriend her. Little did he know, his decision had changed his life.
